fuel pressure regulator...searched

Ok im wrapping up my single project and i have a quick question about my SARD regulator. It has 3 holes, 2 for the fuel lines and 1 is for my gauge.

So am i correct to say that the bottom hole is for the fuel line coming off the 2nd fuel rail, then one of the ones on the side are for the fuel return line, then the 3rd hole is for the gauge?

And once this is set, what base fuel pressure do i want for when i start the car up..40psi?

and this is all for my half bridgeport motor

thanks for the space

It sounds like you may have this backwards. I have the SX FPR and the bottom hole is for the return. The two holes on the sides can be setup to have one line coming from each rail or you can just cap one of the side ports. You don't need it if you are keeping the stock (series) configuration. In your case you can use it for the gauge. Some of the FPRs have an additional smaller port in the front (1/8 NPT) for a gauge.

Can anyone else concur this? i just got done hooking it up that way, and if i did do it backwards then i need to go back out to the garage

Well, I have the Aeromotive, but its the same design where it has two holes on the side, 1 on the bottem, and a 1/8 mpt for a guage. The bottem hole is for return. Just hook it up like Silver7 said too, since he does have the gauge.

I also have an aeromotive, which is very similar in design to the SX, and all the posts about these two are correct -- two inlets on the sides, return on the bottom, and a seperate 1/8NPT port for the gauge. There is also a nipple for connecting to the intake manifold (to maintain constant fuel pressure relative to the manifold -- 1:1 ratio). You set the base fuel pressure with the manifold hose disconnected.

If you post a picture of the SARD FPR, it might be easier for us to help with the connections.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SARD-...spagenameZWDVW I have one to. I bought it on ebay with adapters and fuittings for like $100 (new). I don't think i'll ever do enough boost for the large size.

That helps. I think it is extremely likely that the bottom port is the return. And the ports around the sides are the inlets (since they both connect to the same volume inside the FPR, and will thus have the same pressure). You could attach a gauge to one of the side ports. The nipple on top almost surely the manifold reference.

Using an Aeromotive I run 280 kpas (40 psi) on start and 260 kpas (37~38 psi) at idle. Runs great on 850/1600s.....
