Question For those who have a 13B-REW FC

My FD rebuild is just about complete, and I decided to go with a brand new built racing engine from Rotary Power (all new housings, bearings, turbos, rotors, eshaft, 3mm seals, porting etc etc). I will be keeping my old engine, which just needed 1 new rotor housing and a seal set to be deemed road worthy.

I'd like to build my spare engine up since it will just be sitting in my garage, and was entertaining the thought of dropping it into an FC shell. How many of you have done this swap and what amount of custom work needed to be done?

This will be a long term project car for me

.bump.

I saw one thread on it, but there wasn't any kind of rundown on the process they went through. Please post if you know anything about the swap, or contact me on AIM: DayumMestizo

Well, putting it in an FB would be alot easyer..

But, since you want to do an FC.. You will need an intermediate housing from a FC's 13B and you will want to build the engine with this.. you will also need the FC oilpan..

Then you have the normal things.. like ECU, Fuel lines & maybe pump.. Custom pipeing & intercooler..

That should keep you busy..

I don't think even Jef knew what his engine consisted of. He was running both stock cats, stock catback and all. Only mods were cone filter and CF clutch.

Hey Jef, if you read this, what was up with your engine to make it so fast? I'm curious why you were able to hang with everyone you raced with no bolt ons. Were you able to confirm if it was some sort of 13BT-REW hybrid?

The main advantage of the 3rd gen engine in a 2nd gen is marrying the better handling/ride of the 2nd gen with the 3rd gen's additional torque, faster spooling turbo, and newer technology.

I've seen a post on it. You might search the 2nd gen archive for 13B-REW

HUH? Better handling? Ummmm...

I love my second gen... but to say it handles better than a third gen would be ludicrous!

Hey well I've got a nice AE that could really use a heart. I would never sell the car since everything but the engine is clean...but that's a cause I'd give it up for. Either way, good luck with it. I don't think the Twin Turbos fit in the FC so you'd have to go with a big single.
