Failed smog in Ca by 1.3%... What can I do?
Im not down for that alchohol trick really, but theres gotta be something I can do to lean out the CO. I mean, I passed smog this past February and havent done anything to the car except replace the air filter, clean and tested out the fuel injectors, installed new fuel filter, and replaced my radiator.
I was at a test only center and they said my CO was at 2.0 with the max allowed being .7, whether it was at idle or 2500rpm they didnt say (but Im guesing it was at 2500rpm). The was being driven normally for a good 10 minutes before hand and was at the normal 1/3rd temperature on the gauge.
My tank is half full right now and I was thinking maybe just dumping in 8 quartz of Marvels Mystery Oil, putting in some 87 octane gas, and driving the car for a good 30 mins before smogging it again.
Anyone else have any better ides? I know Ive heard that you could lean out the gas somehow with either a switch on the fuel injectors or on the air intake, but I have no clue about that kinda stuff.
Thanks
