ground crontrol Q

I've got a brand new set of GAB Super R 8ways and I know theyre discontinued. I went to ground controls site to see if they still made coilovers for them and they list the schocks but its not an otion to purchase. Im still saving money(theyre like $600). Do you think they can whip up a set for me or should I just settle for the RS*R race series springs?

This may be better for the suspension section...

I'm not sure on the FD application, but I've installed a set of GC coilovers on an FC in the past. They were JUNK, IMHO. Rattly, you used a stock-type shock with them (which means your spring and shock rate have pretty much nothing to do with each other)...I could go on.

Search on Howard Coleman's posts about FD suspension. If you want fantastic street handling, go with some Eibach's and be done with it. If you want the next step, go with real coilovers, like Tein's, where you'll get a matched spring/shock combo that's VERY well built and engineered. If you simply want the car to be slammed to the ground with no worry on ride quality or handling, get the lowest springs you can find.

Again, maybe the FD GC setup is nicer, but I was VERY unimpressed with the FC setup. It was basically equivalent to the $150 rice shop generic coilovers I've seen.

Anyhow, just trying to see what you're wanting to get to and give you some sage advice .

I was able to buy a set of used M2 Coil(Made by GC) over conversion springs w/ Tokico shocks for $500. Try posting a WTB is the FD section you might get lucky. A lot of guys are upgrading from them to the true coil-over sets.
