I am looking for some info about the ssr gt1. Weight, offset, etc. What finishes are available (even if it costs extra). Does anyone have pics of this wheel on a 3rd gen? 17s or 18s, doesn't matter. I have see the 18 gt3, but i like the smooth one piece look. Are these a good strong, light choice? Thanks.

 

I run these on my protege5 and love them. The lighter alternative would be the competition.

However the weight will still be below 20lbs/corner I'm sure.

Is it strong? I know Manny is a huge supporter of SSF type of forging, so ask him. They are what he runs daily and track. Therefore, I would say yes.

My road wheels are the SSR Integral A2s in 8 x 16, 38 mm offset. They are quite strong for being 15.5 lbs! I've had the SSR IA2s since 1999, after unloading my stock chrome wheels to some guy out west, where DOT road salt won't eat anymore chrome off of the wheels during our Indiana winters!

The new SSR Comps in 8.5 and 9.5 x 17, 42 mm offset, are for track use. I've only used them once on track (last month) so no real data yet. FWIW, I don't like running over track curbs, so the SSR Comps will be fine for the long haul.

Both SSR wheels are finished with high quality paint and a very thick clear-coat lacquer.

The GT-1s are heavier. If you're using them as road wheels, then heavy and strong are good things for road wheels, especially if you live in the midwest.

Looks like we got a nice fit. The 18,9's are a +45 offset and tire rack is extremely conservative with their fitments and therefore don't reccommend it. However, with all the data we've acquired with various other wheels and that offset in the front of an FD, you should be great.

Run a 245/35 front and rear and you'll have a very nice setup.

I run SSR GT1's with a silver finish on the street, and have them set up as follows:

18 x 8 in front with a 235/40ZR Kumho Ecsta Supra
18 x 9 in back with a 265/35ZR Kumho Ecsta Supra
