Bay Area: Any tire hookup?

Anyone works at tire shop that can give me good deal on tires and mounting/balancing? I need to get a set for drifting...

Thanks,
Reza

Yea. Auto-X sucks. hit a plateau and now its so frustrating to do autocross. Not fun anymore. Drifting is fun. Not on the street though. I don't like close call to poles and curbs, because they are in the wrong spots.

So anybody? I need to buy new tires at good prices. Or have tire mounting for reasonable cost. The !@#$ers at American Tires wants to charge $30/tire for mounting/balancing. !@#$ that.

jic: where at?
scubaman: benicia is a bit far. Anything in south bay?

The main thing is reasonable price mounting.....I think $10 or less is good. $30 is just way ridicoulous.
So far the cheapest for example Kumho 712 is online at TireRack, but you pay shipping. $90 for 245/45/16.

Also looking for 225/55/16.

ok i'll try and remember to check this thread tomorrow while i'm @ work. it has been busy though.

benicia is approx 45 minutes from fremont reza. i'd drive that distance to save $90 shipping. i'll see what kind of pricing i can do out the door for both of you.

yea...sucks to be the underdog all the time at autocross. Speacially these competitors at SCCA seems to have deep pocket, spending $1000 on tires that last only 50 runs....

I know Rishie from Auto RnD also sells tires and usually price matched online vendors.

Wherever you buy, just use discounttiredirect.com as your measuring tape since you can easily get a price shipped.

Oh yeah, and don't mention the online shipped pricing until they give you a price first. They might just increase their normal price to barely beat out the online vendor if you tell them what your lowest prices so far are.

We do our best to bring good pricing to our local peeps. But with the huge buying power of tire rack and discount tire some times it's hard. Just let us know if we can help out.
