I am looking at my options as I set future goals for my car.
I wanted to know if a programed stock ecu for the FC3S, to higher boost like 12-14 psi, with the removed fuel cut, free flow exhaust and intake, stock turbo and intercooler, stock injectors. How much horse power would i expect. Would it be verry drivable/reliable.

I am looking into this option, because I won't be upgrading my car anytime soon, so I just want it to run right. I currently have a untuned A-pexi SAFC II, but want something that is tuned and ready. Short on money right now, so I just want to king of finish it of for now..


Has anyone used any of the corksport ecus?
I heard that you could call the guy that actually programs them for specific request, would it be chaper to buy it from the main guy, skiping the middle man?


I was thinking of this because I see a lot of "boost UP ecus" in ebay that range from 230 - 500 shipped, but used ecus are kind of risky speacially when the seller can't answer question like what size injectors was it tuned for and such.

12-14 PSI on the stock turbo is a bit out of its efficeny(sp?) range youll be way over working it id am for more like 10-11 at the most with out doing nething else even that youll be taking a risk reliability wise and i think that 250WHP is a little stretch of the truth

 

stock turbo is only capiable up to 10psi

 

From everything I've heard, 12-14 psi is about its limit, usually 13 is the highest you want to go. And it's not 10psi, I've read plenty of people doing 12 or 13.

Power is variable depending on a lot of things, so I have no idea. But yah I'd stick with 12 psi, though I've seen a number of people do 13.

Still keeping the topmount doesnt seem like the best idea, though, because I think after like 10psi it just becomes an "interheater" heh.

my stock turbo spikes past 16psi at times. (though i try to keep it around 10-12 until i port the wastegate more, i also am swapping in a hybrid before that anyways)

 

I'm running a tuned ECU with stock injection and a t04B turbo. I dyno'd tonight and made 285whp (had to turn the fuel pressure up to 35psi at idle to keep a 12:1 a/f ratio).

The ecu is made by a company in japan, but there is no label on my ecu box. I'll make copies for $100bux

 

that corksport ECU is $315, if you're SAFCII is already installed, why don't you get it tuned? it'll cost way cheaper than $300 and you said you were short on money

And I hope you hav some bigger secondarys or at the very least a fuel pump if you plain on running anything high then 10psi on stock injectors.

 

tuned ecus could have timing map remapped whick is VERY important when running above 8 psi. as for stock ecus dont have fuel nor timing maps above 8 psi(why fuel cut is important) So SAFC is nice for fuel but useless for higher boost.

 

If your only running 12 psi, the stock timing is ok. Its not the best, but its still fine. Just get the safc tuned, and make sure the pump is updgraded along with the secondaries.
And for the love of god, don't get a tuned ecu from ebay.
