What to do with My Floor Pans???

Dilemma..... There is a hole about the size of a Golf Ball that was badly patched on the Drivers side floor Pan and a hole about the size of a Baseball on the Passengers side floor pan also badly patched. Is there a company that sells a floor pan repair kit??? I know when i was a kid(****! i'm showin my age)there used to be a patch kit in the auto parts.Or, am I going to have to weld in Metal?

I was thinking of getting a decent size piece of metal for each pan.Drill 4 holes in each and bolt it to the floor.Small Bolts of course.

Whaddya Think??

Better off getting a pro to handle it for you. the right way is to cut out the damaged area and weld in a new section of sheet metal.

cut out damaged portion, replace with 16ga steel that you can weld in with a mig. pick up some POR15 and MetalReady from POR15.com (starter kit will have enough to cover 12 sq. feet and costs 20 bucks, contains everything needed), and clean up the rest of the floorpan. follow instructions to prep it with metal etcher (metal ready) and then coat with por15.

I suggest leaving a bowl of water overnight by the painted area, as POR15 LIKES humidity to cure (no joke). It's basically like liquid powdercoating in a can.

well, it's paint. very hard paint used for chassis coating, and unless covered by a top coat, will fade under sunlight (UV). It's a wonderful rust converter/neutralizer/protector.

The Z guys swear by it, since our cars are made out of thin sheetmetal and prone to rust. You can put it in a spray gun and coat stuff with it, or just brush on. What did you have in mind to use it for?

well i have a bunch of rust on my RX2, mainly in the trunk, inwhich i am gonna hae to put a new piece of metal in there. its either that or I could switch the bodies and put the better body on the frame that has a title but i dont really what to take every thing apart caseu i doubt if it would ever be put back togather again. Anywho I will keep you guys in mind, and the harness has been modified to run a 13b so i doubt you would want it. cause its in pretty said shape. lates matt22
