Thumbs up FD - 3 spokes ??

Does anyone know how much the original factory upgraded 3 spoke rims that came as an option on some FD's are worth, and if anyone has an interest in these rims, perhaps a mazda fanatic who likes these type of original or collector parts.

I have a set in my basement, barely used, that I don't know what to do with.

What do you guys think ???

Eh? I've never heard of, much less seen OEM 3-spoke rims "that came as an option". You sure about that? Post pics please.

Chris7777777, do you mean mesh by chance? In the states the only OEM wheel that ever came out was the 5 star, but overseas (not sure about Canada) they came in mesh and 5 star. As the king said (as he left the building ) please do post pix, as I have never seen these either.

There is a 3 spoke. I've seen them in person and there is a blurb about them in the 3rd Gen Yamaguchi book.

Personally I wouldn't buy them, but someone would buy them for collecting.

eh, nani? I ran a search on the many FD sites out there (even Japanese sites) but couldnt find any matches. Do you by chance have a pic? I've never seen them before.

Or can you describe it. Is it like the Advan's? multipiece, etc? I've never heard of a Mazda design like that. . . . . . unless it was something by Rays for Mazdaspeed. . . .???

Hang tight !!
Will get some pics hopefully in next day or two. They have the mazda logo and everything.
They are genuine mazda factory upgrades. Personally I don't really like them, I have the 5 spoke on my car currently.

Here is what I have for pics !!

Both examples are of what I am referring to. My FD is a 1994 and the original owner got them along with the regular 5 spokes with his purchase from Mazda as an option.

A close up will show that the centre has the FD Mazda symbol in the middle. It is actually a nicer symbol than the 5 spoke as it has a black background and stands out.

These rims are quite a bit heavier than the stock ones that most people are used to.

Wow, so that's them, eh? Guess what they say about learning something new every day is true.

That said, those wheels look like wholesale ***, and ruling them out was the proper decision.

EDIT: chris7777777: Doubt you'd be able to get much for them, they look awful. The only JDM wheels people like are the 17" 5-spoke and BBS mesh.

SpeedKing, I agree, they are pretty awful. That is why I took them OFF my car. lol.

I don't know when and where they ruled them out, so I don't know how long they were offered over here.

I think my best bet if I wanted to get rid of them is to sell em real cheap or to a collector sort of person, who would want these rare rims on their car.

Maybe even to someone with another type mazda, who knows ???????????????

It's cool to know that not many people know about these rims.

The original owner told me he paid an extra 6 grand CDN for them when he bought the car. I think he was either bullshiting me, or is a moron for spending that kind of money for those.

Do you have any better(closer/larger) pictures of them? I'm not interested in purchasing them, but I'd like a better view of them, having not seen them very often.

I don't think the three spokes look too bad on the silver car. I probably would not buy them, but if they were free I would put them on. (like my east bear headlights)
