Are talking about a Racing Beat Air Filter housing?

It is intended for off-road use, meaning RACE engines which would require you to remove all the 'hose devices'. Why would you buy this air cleaner if you still have the 'rats nest'?

Or you can drill hole and install fittings into your new filter housing to provide clean air supply to your engine smog devices.

Just so you know the reason those hoses went in to the air cleaner housing is for 2 reasons.

First to provide your engine with clean air. Second to help muffle the noises when the valves operate.

Most likely that valve drawing in all the air is the shutter valve, helps reduce back firing when you let off the gas pedal. There is a butter fly plate in the rear- primary intake port that closes as the engine vacuum increases.
