I took off exhaust and intake....Now it doesnt...

Ok, So my car is a write off after an accident. The engine was untouched, but I just wanted to take the exhaust and intake systems off. The car worked fine after the accident, I even did every day errands with it still. So I park it in my garage, remove the exaust (racing beat, and straight pipe) and my intake all the way to the engine. Then I try and start the car again and it starts, but dies right away. Over and over. Its not a big deal, Im getting it towed back to the salvage yard tommorow. But Im just at a lost why it wont stay on anymore.

b/c if you took off the intake all the way to the eninge, that means you removed the AFM, and possibly the throttle body. car definly wont run properly with out either of those

If you take the intake off all the way down to the engine how is it getting gas?

oh ok. right before the air box (big black thing with the filter insdie) there is a small rectangular shaped metal box. this is your air flow meter. its lets in the correct amount of air to the eninge. if you have removed this the car will not run properly

I forgot to plug that thing in after I was finished making some throttle body adjustments once and the car blew a lot of smoke.

When you're describing the problem you're having on the forum please be as descriptive as possible. Especially when it comes to parts of the engine. When you say "engine" most people think "block", and not "throttle body", which is where your intake was torn down to. Just a tip to help you get better technical advice from us. We want to help, but since we can't see your car you have to paint a good picture of the problem for us.

Welcome to the forum, BTW.
