Seatbelt light not comming on when im not wearing it??

Drove my 7 today and noticed the seatbelt light doesn't come on when im driving and its not plugged in...
Checked the fuse box and the fuse had been taken out..
So i replaced it.. I didn't hear a "click" or anything when putting it in though, should it?
Seatbelt light still didn't come on...

I don't really care that the seatbelt light doesn't come on. I'm scared that maybe if the seatbelt one doesn't work, nothing else does.
Everything lights up on start up except the one in the top 2nd over from the right (ABS). I don't have this so i don't worry about it.
Although the one in the bottom far left corner doesn't light up at all.
Canadian 1990 GXL....

Could someone please tell me why my seatbelt light isn't comming on, and what is in the far bottom left hand corner?

Thanks

The seat belt light should only come on for the first 14 seconds of turning the key on. After that the CPU shuts down the circuit.

If it is not coming on at all, the you probably have either a bad bulb, bad solder joint in the Clock/idiot light panel, or a bad CPU.

Well it does come on at start up. But does not stay on for 14 seconds. It turns right off when all the rest do.
How hard is it resolder all the joints? much work?
Can anyone tell me what the light is in the bottom left had corner on a Canadian model GXL? I can see there is something in the back but no light is comming on and i can't quite make out what it is.

Thanks

Without wearing your seat belt? That's like signing your own death certificate.

lol, no it does it while wearing it. Wearing my seatbelt is 100% always. Its habbit now. Open door, sit down, grab seat belt with left hand, key in ignition with right hand. then right hand grabs seatbelt from left hand, Right hand latch seat belt, right hand start car.

Ok, back from the dead (at least I search).

Anyways, I'm just wanting some verification. With my key to the ON position my seat belt warning light illuminates. After starting my car the light does not come on if I unbuckle nor does it stay on for 14 seconds. This has happened with 2 different idiot clusters.

Bad CPU?

In an S5 car like the OP has, if you want to test to see if the seatbelt warning light is working once the engine is running, you can disconnect the shoulder belt from the clip that rides in the window track. Mine light comes on within a second or two of doing this.

It never lights up if you leave off the lap belt, and I wish it did. That might remind the passenger (usually my wife) to put that on too.

Sorry, My5Ababy. I should have checked your profile. I also didn't notice how old this resurrected thread was either.

yep, try re-soldering the main panel in the CPU (the large one)

No problem. The poster is supposed to clarify and I didn't.

If that doesn't solve it then you are looking at pinched or shorted wires at the plug, at the back of the seat.

If that doesn't involve removing the carpet I'll look at that first. If it does, I'll take one of my extra CPU's and resolder it (which I'll probably do anyways).
