Question ACT clutch disc wear limits? Worn/Bad?

This is from an ACT clutch and I need to know what are the wear limits for these types of discs?

Is this one worn? The person I purchased it off of claimed to have only put about 600 miles on the clutch but I think thats an understatement.

Thanks,
Paul

did you buy this off of a guy named Jarad Leo?
I was supposed to buy one "with 600 miles" from him.
I sent my money on Dec. 10th and the post office took 2.5 weeks to get it to him so he sold it to someone else. He got my money order the day after. If that is it then I am glad you bought it. The only problem is he is supposed to be sending me my money back, and if he was dishonest about the clutch, then who knows if I will ever see my $150...

yeah, he seemed kind of flaky for a while, not answering emails or calls, but once i finally got a hold of him, he was a pretty good guy. i guess it was good i got jacked on the deal though, that clutch looks pretty used.

good luck with it,
Ben

It has a wierd groove on it. Other than that, I would reconsider putting it in if it is thinner than .290" or thicker by .015" toward the center than it is on the outside.

Well I measured the thickness and its 0.322" which is still in spec but do you really think that this clutch only had 600 miles on it? Unless these discs wear very slowly.

Also, about the groove, its just a smooth spot and is not any lower or higher than the rest of the disc.

.322 would be relaxed condition. We always measure them collapsed. The marcel (squeeze) of that disc is about .010 so the disc is basically new at around .312. When a disc breaks in it gets a smooth glazed (polished) appearance. It doesn't even look broken in to me from the photo. Good quality discs wear pretty slowly.
