Exhaust overheating light came on since pulling rad and putting in electric fan....

Like the topic says..... Pulled the rad yesterday, installed the taurus fan, replaced rad, drove home. Let car idle for 20 minutes next day, to burn off all the extra anti-freeze that is in the engine bay, and check for leaks. Take it for a quick rip after warming up, and the warning light for the exhaust temp came on. 1st time in 2 months of owning car, and driving hard regularly. The coolant level sensor is just grounding out right now on the negative terminal of the batt, cause that broke yesterday. Not havin much luck here.... Anyone know what could suddenly cause the overheating of the exhaust system light to come on? could it be cause of the coolant sensor? Or maybe an air pocket in the anti-freeze somewhere? Does the stock fan move air over the exhaust to keep it a little cooler?

The breeze from the fan wouldn't even touch the exhaust where the sensor is. Its under the passenger seat. The only thing I can think of since the two systems are in no way related in wiring, is that a cat got clogged for some reason. Either that or the exhaust just got really hot from idling for 20min standing still with no air flow around it.

Sounds like coincidence to me. Your cat may be clogged, causing the overheat, or maybe the sensor/wire went bad. Look under the car next time to see if your cat is glowing red hot.
