Question what is better? tires vs. suspension

Hi everyone, this is my first post but I've been looking throught this site for months and now I have a question.

Which would aid my cars cornering more. Decent suspension or wider/gripier tyres?

Thanks

Very nice car, Did you do the engine swap your self?About your question, Its one of those car mod deals once you have upgraded the susp. you need tires to make it grip really well. I found this out the hard way Dont buy $ 46.00 USD Rubber and expect to hang with an M3 at the track. Thats my opinion

My friend's brother did the engine swap. His family are all rotor heads. They have RX3's, 2's, R100, all kinds of RX7's, it's pretty sweet. I want some of their cars on my site.

I should probably for wider rims and better tires first then. Is it possible to get a set of decent rims with tread for $500 AUD? (Australian corency is about the same as Canadian) I'm on a tight budget being christmas and all.

You might want to spend your money on a SE Susp. for a broader selection of wheel tire selection. 16 in. wheels are the way to go as far as tire selection goes hardly any one makes a good 15 any more

I cannot tell you the definative answer, but I can give you my opinions and experence. I went with the tires (205/50R15) and have noticed better hook up on accereration and the steering was a little more responsive. I haven't competed in a autox so I can't give any real world times other than what I feel.

I went with the wheels first due to oppertunity. I traveled from tacoma to medford and back in a day with a pregnant wife. This including picking up the wheels and riding in a turboed FB. this was back in 98. I have not second thought the purchase yet. and for the 150 USD I remeber paying it was a good choice.

well FB's have pretty damn good suspension already from stock, with some good tires you should be able to tackle most anything you'll find on a daily basis. my 2 cents

Gregs: The exhaust is custom built. It sounds unbelievable. I wish you guys could hear it.

PaulAber: "What are you doing for fuel? Standalone?" I'm not sure what this means. I'm fairly new to the tuning scene. I got the car about 4 months ago.

From what I've heard I'll buy some rims first. I think anything bigger than 15" or 16" would look out of place.

Thanks for all the advice and experience.
