I think that I blew my motor or transmission in my NA.
It is a 87 na se, I went to start it and it would not do anything. Then we decided to push start it and it started fine. But then when I started to drive it it would rev to the right rpms but no power. also the shift light would blink on and off. Please help and let me know if I can give you any more info.

I forgot to add that when I let the clutch out to let it idle it dies. I am so worried that my rx7 is in the crapper. Please any thoughts?

 

Hmmmm lets see where should we start...? Since it's a 5speed first thing to do is completely disregard that shift light bullsh!t... Mazda put it in to let the driver know where to shift to get optium gas milage. Right'...
Next thing to do is let someone who knows drive your car and tell you if the clutch is working properly. Hard starting there could be a million reasons...

jeez... Actually it sounds like your motor is shot.

 

All those symptoms you describe seem to point to poor compression. Check it out and see what you got.
