Alumapro rocks my face off!
I recently bought an Alumapro BP-10 sub/enclosure unit and a Rockford Fosgate 301s amp. http://www.alumapro.com/main_frmst.html
The amp was tested at 320W, and the sub is appropriately rated at 400W. Even though this is relatively low wattage, this sub hits hard and goes WAY down low, especially b/c of the
bandpass enclosure. Of course you see the back of the sub through glass, and it has a port so frickin' big you can put your arm through it! Still, it really doesn't take up too much room. It sounds amazing for a single 10" at that wattage. It really turns heads.
The bass **** for the amp is installed in that empty spot next to the security light on the console. I bought everything and had it all installed at Audio Junction here in Manhattan, KS, costing me almost $600 total. They did a great job. I didn't even ask for the bass **** to be put in the console like that. The amp, by the way, is mounted behind my driver seat, against the 2+2 back seat.
As for the rest of my system, the previous owner put in a Sony X-Plod MP3/CD head unit and some nice Rockford Fosgate speakers in the stock locations (4" under dash and 6" in rear strut towers). I now have some amazing full range sound. Of course, my hatch rattles b/c of the sub, but I bought some weatherstripping to take care of that. I haven't put it on yet, though.
By the way, I've already set off a car alarm with my bass (which I already did regularly with my exhaust, but now I have more range).
Anyway, I just have to give props to Alumapro and Audio Junction.

Yeah, it's a 2nd gen. I just put "rubber foam weatherseal self stick tape" on top of the sealing that's already around the hatch today. It's 3/4" wide, 7/16" thick, and 10' long. It reduced the rattling quite a bit, but there's still a little at higher bass frequencies. Basically, there's no rattling that you can hear unless you're standing right behind the car. Also, if I want it perfect, I can just lay 2 or 3 rags over the seal at certain spots. Anyway, that's just a suggestion for anyone with the same problem.
