Oil restrictor on my SR stage 2 setup?

Hey guys, I recently picked up a SR stage 2 turbo/XS cast manifold. What I'm doing is running a -6 SS line from the place where the stock banjo bolt/line hooks up to the motor, to the turbo. What I'm wondering is, how did you guys go about restircting the oil, and how much did you restrict it? Thanks, CJ

I restricted mine by drilling and tapping the fitting on the turbo. Drilled to 1/4", used a 1/8th npt tap then got a hand full of 1/8"npt socket head pipe plugs and driled them to various sizes, .040, .060, .070 and .080. I've been told that most turbos need to be rescricted to .060-.080". I am running the .080" with no "backing up" of the 5/8" turbo drain yet.

hope that gives you an idea.

CJ,
According to ErnieT, you DON'T want to restrict the oil feed line to the turbo. He did that and ended up rebuilding it soon afterwards. Jut run that -6AN fitting from the block to the turbo. Just make sure you run atleast a -10AN for the drain, any restriction on the drain will result in "puddling" and it will cause oil to seep through the seals.

Well there you go I guess those turbos don't need to be restricted.

Hey Jim, I need to swap oil lines with you You gave me a -8 on accident. I'm in no hurry, as I'm still banging the frame rail in. CJ

CJ,
The Big hose is only a -8AN? Then I guess I don't know my hose sizes, I was told that it was a -10AN

The big hose you have me is a -8, but the fitting on the turbo is a -10. I don't suppose you have the right one laying around do you? CJ

CJ,
That's the one Derrick made for me, I was under the impression it was a -10AN because I have -8AN fuel lines and they're smaller than the drain.
