Hey peoples.

I'd like to be able to use the 4 x 114.3 wheel size which comes stock on a GSL-SE, on my 4 x 110 GSL.

I have an almost brand new set of 17" Motegi MR7 rims, with 205/40/17 Yokohama Parada Spec II tires just sitting in storage waiting for me to figure this out.

What all is needed for the swap? Is this a simple project, or do I have to drag almost the whole parts car home when I find one to do this?

Or, from another angle.....do they make any sort of adapter that would just basically bolt to the 110 hub to make it fit a 114.3 wheel?

Well it all depends on what year your GSL is, and what you call simple?

I have a 1984 GSL. I am wondering basically, what parts I would have to strip off of a parts car SE, when I find one, and what the process is for the swap.

 

if you have a good machinist friend I'm pretty sure he could modify the hubs, I was going to get mine switched to 4X108.

 

this subject has been beaten to death LOL Just incase the search isnt working, you swap the front struts assy, complete with rotor, spring, brake calipers, brake brackets etc. Then you swap the entire rear end... Everything is a bolt on, doesnt get much simplier than that

 

Oh and when you mention adapters, remember those will stick out further on the hub, and then you better be sure you wheel wont be in the fender well

 

I definately have to switch brakes? I have heard that the GSL-SE brakes are better, but, I don't expect to find great brakes on a parts car. There isn't a way to just switch hubs?

 

No, the spindles, rotors, calipers, and brackets are totally different.

 

I was told 84-85 12's have the same spindles as a SE. So there fore the rotors would be interchangable, but, theres always a but, I beleive you have to make your own caliper attaching bracket or soemthing , i forget LOL

If your car is an 84/85 and you want to put the SE set up on this is what you need.

The brake booster stays,they are the same...

You will need:
The SE master cyl
The SE front strut assembly/unbolted from the lower arm,and trut tower.
The SE front rubber hoses.

The SE whole diffrentual (rear end)
with the 3 brakes hoses back there,
The SE E brake cables

......................

Pre 84 needs
The 84/85 brake booster
The SE master cyl
The SE front strut assembly/unbolted from the lower arm,and trut tower.
The SE front rubber hoses.

The SE whole diffrentual (rear end)
with the 3 brakes hoses back there,
The SE E brake cables

ANY 84/85 drive shaft
