This issue has been handled ... and yes, as a general response, when the line is crossed, it is not only my right, but my responsibility as moderator to edit posts and defuse tense situations ...
In closing, rgus has offered is apology (which is an honorable thing to do) for the misunderstandings, and I suggest we all wipe the slate clean, and make a fresh start with him.
