Is it worth attempting to fit 3rd gen twins on an fc? I don't have the money for a big single right now and twins would be nice, is it a mess when they are rigged up non seq?

 

they wont clear the lower intake manifold, on an fc. its also the same amount of work as going single

i think cosmo 13bre twins would fit because i was going to buy it from this guy who had the twins on his turbo2 and was selling it to me for 300 but i decided to go with a large single for my fc.

maybe one day twins

 

what about a jspec s5 manifold?

 

wouldnt have EGR and some other ****, not sure what else they don't have on them.

I've heard this is a pretty good setup on the 2nd gens..I also have the Cosmo upper/lower manifold for sale. FYI, the primary turbo on the Cosmo is identical to the FD but the secondary is actually larger than the FD's.

 

My friend has a TII with Cosmo 2 rotor motor w/ TT's and it fits with ease...

Cool thanks for the info! I did find out that you cannot use the Cosmo upper/lower intake with the 13B (TII) block...which is a shame. I just returned from Rotorfest in Gainesville (Pistons vs. Rotors World Finals) where there was more than one pro-style drag car using this intake. One specifically, a 2nd gen, runs in the 7 second range. He said the Cosmo intake produces more torque than the FD. I'll post some pics after I get them developed. My digitals are at the shop being cleaned/calibrated and fixed :-( Had to resort to the old fashion cellulite stuff, film.

Awesome! thanks Mike :-) Oh, the Cosmo intake I had for sale is sold but the Cosmo turbos and assembly are still available. FYI, the Cosmo LIM will not line up without the use of an adapter which pretty much kills the reason for running it in the first place (ruins what makes it efficient). I think Chris runs an FD block.

 

Clarification on the above, the Cosmo LIM doesn't line up on a 13BT block. Lines up just fine on an FD block.

Everything is sold too, turbos, intake, etc...rebuilding the engine now. Full port job, polished everything. Lots of bling bling. Hopefully she'll provide lots of go go. If not, I'll just smoke some more of that "stuff" and It'll feel plenty fast! :-)

So the cosmo 13b UIM can be bolted up to the13brew with very little or no modification?

 

The UIM and LIM will bolt up to the FD's block. Once it's on, there are two main issues. First, when you attach the FD's throttle body, what I believe to be an air bypass channel is left exposed. Related, when the throttle body is attached and one goes to attach a GReddy or stock elbow, you'll find the TB sits about 1" inboard of where it would normally be. The easiest way would be to create an aluminum or even phenolic spacer. The LIM will also need to be port matched to the REW's intake ports as the RE ports are much larger.

One racer simply told me to weld up that air channel. Not sure how it would affect idle, but he didn't seem to have a problem with it. Then again, it wasn't a street car but a 7 second drag car :-) I'm sure some piping would have enough fidget room to work with the 1" to the center elbow too but I haven't done this in person. Actually the oil filler neck may interfere. A spacer wouldn't be much of an issue though if you have a fab or machine shop near you.
