In the market to buy RX-7...

Im in the market to buy an '94 RX-7. A concern of mine is I have heard is that rotarys don't "live" past 100k. What things should I look forward to buying to help make the engine last long and to support the extra hp it will be getting?

FD's (The body code for the third gen RX-7 is FD3S or FD for short, second gen is FC3S (although US coupes are FC33 and verts are FCS3 or something like that) and first gen is SA22 or FB3S depending on year and country.) usually need an engine rebuild around 80-120k.
Turbocharged rotaries DO NOT like to be lean (not enough fuel for the amount of air). When you do a mod that lets it bring in more air (exhaust, get rid of cats, porting, air filter, turbo, etc) you will have to add fuel. You can get away with a few things before having to add fuel, but not too many.
Also you can't ever overheat a rotary.
There are a few mods to make rotaries more reliable. Here is a site that covers pretty much everything FD very well. http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/
If you get this car, start putting a little bit of money away for a rebuild when/if it does pop.
I'm sure lots of people could help you with buying a 3rd gen far more than I. I'm a second gen guy.
