Apex N1 Dual questions

Ok, i'm probably going to get the Apex dual exhaust for my 87 t2, but i think it might be too loud for my tastes. i mainly want to get it for looks. What does the cat back come with as far a resonator, silencer that i could get to tone down the sound a little without loosing too much performance? Or would i be better off just buying 2 apex mufflers and making my own exhaust if i don't want one as loud? Also, does anyone have a sound clip of their apex dual exhaust? thanks

i have a clip i could send you over instant messenger, or if someone wants to host it. i have full 3" piping into 2 n1 universal mufflers. you can buy a silencer that goes into the end of the muffler if u want to tone it down a little, but thats about it i believe. well im for a clip

From what everyone says, if your worried about being too loud don't get the N1s. I'd go for the GReddy Power Extreme. They still have a few at rx7.com I think.

Ya I know they're alot. rx7.com is a little expensive on everything. But I don't think there are any more PE's for rx7s anywhere.

i just can't see dropping 900 on exhaust. I know you have to pay for quality, but there has to be a chaper way to get a high performance exhaust without loosing your hearing. Maybe i'd get them used in good conditon.

the PE's are so expensive because they aren't being produced anymore.

Why not go custom? I'm going to use knock off mufflers when I do my catback. Just get whatever mufflers you want and take them to a shop and have them make it for you. Then fitment will be perfect too.

I plan on going with some OBX's. You can get them at www.testpipe.com for pretty cheap and come with silencers. I believe the B5 looks like the N1. Also, I've never heard a TII sound like a "weedeater on crack." Thats always NAs that I've ever heard and its NAs without the stock exhaust manifold. We have a turbo to quiet it down and control the tone some.

the current custom exhaust on my T2 sounds exactly like a weedeater on crack. except since its a T2, it sounds like a mean weedeater on crack. and to top it off, not only is it annoying, but its too ******* loud. i hate it. the dual N1 is the exhaust i want as well, and its pretty damn quiet by my standards. but if its too loud for your car, then put the silencers in. they quiet it down a good bit.

btw, just for reference ive been in a T2 with the GT Spec catback. thats the big piping one and its real quiet. nice and deep and really mellow sounding. until its opened up that is, then its just evil sounding
