Unhappy Engine won't crank after installing HI-6

I just finished installing my HI-6 Ignition box and followed all instructions from fc3s.org. Except for one thing... I accidentally reverse the thin wires (red & white) that connects to the original coil wires. I tried to start my car and all I hear is a loud click. Did I break something ? PLEASE HELP!!!

Silly of me to ask but did you check the simple things like having the Spark Plug Wires put the right way? Where did you here the click? Possibly may have shorted your Coil Pack. Provide more details and we could give you some possibilites.

I too followed the step-by-step Instructions given by Dave and was fortunate to turn over the key with no problems.

I don't think I shorted anything. When I switch the ignition key to ON, the LED lights up and does not blink at all. But as soon as I crank it up, all my accessories turn off.

You said you put those wires on backwards... I'm assuming you corrected it, right?
If you wire something backwards, odds are you blew a fuse at a minimum... I would check all the fuses first.

Yes I wired them up correctly. I also checked all the fuses (that was the first thing I did actually) and everything is ok.

does it not start at all? even if the coils were dead it would still crank, just not start. could be a starter / starter realy problem? or fuses.

I put it back to the original setting (without the ignition box) and it looks like I messed up my starter. It wouldn't crank at all. Ok, so which fuse or relay should I check?

Does it not crank, or does it go click-click-click-click? If it's option B, you might have killed your battery.

It does not crank and just click-click. I don't think it's the battery because my lights are working

Anytime you cross polarity on something, you can fry the power source. See if it push starts, or see if you can swap a battery into it...

Hell, the battery might have just died... Coincidences happen.

If its just the two wires to the coilpack (the ones that bolt on with the nuts) then reversing those shouldn't make any difference at all as the coil 'floats'. The coil itself is not polarized or anything.

You took the -ve cable (or +ve cable) off the battery when installing the unit right? - make sure those connections are clean and tight. You've likely got a high resistance between the starter and the battery.

Ok, I just wanted to make sure that I didn't kill any of the electrical stiff like the starter, coil and my new ignition box.

I jumped my car today and she started. So I put back the ignition box and everything is now ok. I gues I might have killed my battery (not completely though) when I accidentally reversed the wires. But I'm happy now that everything is working. As far as performance is, I didn't notice any changes on my car but I am expecting a better gas mileage. Thanks for all the replies.
