Hey Manny
Hey Manny
Curious about your suspension setup.
I've got the same 17x9 Integral with Yoko setup you do. My fender liner is getting touched when I hit a good bump and when the wheels are turned full lock, the inner edge of the side being turned to rubs the liner as well.
My suspension is the stock touring setup and right now my car looks like I'm set to go off-roading in the back. I have 2 inches from tread to fender in the back and 1.5 in the front.
Your site says you've got H&R springs, what struts are you running now?
Is the pic on your site with your car wearing the SSR Comps with the H&R's? If so, why does the stance appear to be equal tread-to-fender both front and back if the H&R's drop 1.25" both ends?
I was looking over the Racing Beat springs since they drop 1.5" in the rear and .75" front - but worries me that would simply reverse the odd look I have now and leave me looking slightly jacked up in the front.
Since we have the same wheels and I know you push your car's suspension much harder than I do - what's your current preference for the car that avoids rubbing fenders, liners, etc...?
Thanks.

I just got back from Mid Ohio...had a blast...TracQuest's liberal passing for Red group is the sh*t! Pass anywhere with or without a signal! It was cool diving underneath a slower driver at the Carousel, and at the Keyhole for a pass
FWIW there were no incidences, and we (instructor) group played well with each other
Anyhow, I have H&R springs and stock R1 (Showa) shocks fr/rr. I also have Eibach sway bars fr/rr. That also helps in body roll control.
The SSR Comps don't rub with 8.5/9.5 x 17 fr/rr 245/45-17 fr and 275/40-17 Hoosier R3S03s.
I've tracked the 9 x 17 SSR Integrals with 255/40-17 Yokohama AVS Intermediate tires, with no rubbing problems. I do run -1.5 degrees of camber so that probably helps
The car looks even fr/rr with SSR Comps because there 's 240-lbs of meat sitting in the driver's seat
With the car totally empty, the back end DOES sit higher than the front

Sounds like they let you guys just about do full-on racing out there - pretty cool.
I guess my shocks must have more wear on them than I thought if I'm touching the liner and you're not. It just worried me that the problem would get worse if I got the body even closer to the wheels.
Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, it was as close as I'll ever get to fender-to-fender club racing. Red group (instructors) passed at will (usually with no signal, although, I always gave a point by, since I was new to this format). There was a 911 that wasn't giving me a signal...I waited a couple of turns, and passed underneath at the entry to the Carousel...cool sh*t
Blue groups could pass anywhere but MUST render a signal. Yellow group could only pass in the straights WITH a signal. I'm thinking of trying this format at my own event. It was safe so long as EVERYONE knew what the rules were (no surprises!).
Anyhow, yes, it sounds like your shocks are quite worn out. I'd look into getting new ones, or if you plan to track--try a set of 2.5-inch coilovers.
Best of luck!
