07 Saleen get waxed in the twisties and then...

gets blasted on a 2nd and 3rd gear pull. I was cruisin around on a road with some real nice turn when I got stuck behind some sucker going 5 under. All of a sudden I see a brand new red saleen mustang with graphics all over it pull out in front of the car I'm behind. I get a chance to pass and hammer it down to catch up to him. I get behind him and he start to take off in the turns. We go through about 10 turns and he can't get remotely close to shake me.

One of the last turns I felt like I got a little to close to him so on the straight way as the lanes become 2 I roll up next to him and say "sorry about that last turn". Apparently he wasn't brothered by it and he wants another shot at the straight thinking the muscle in his car should give him a better chance. 2nd gear roll he takes the hit, I go and put a car on him quickly shift to 3rd and put another 6 cars on him before I let out. Good times.

The new BASE Saleen Mustang's aren't all that great...not sure why their owners think they are. The base S281 (probably the one you raced) is 3600lbs, and makes 335whp. However, if you jump up the ranks they get pretty respectable...The SC'd version is a little meaner...3300lbs with 465hp. The ultimate is the Extreme S281 - 3400lbs, 550hp!

Sounds like you had fun...good racing.

Yup - most of the S281s look the same...it's what's done to the engine or the suspension that sets them apart.

Reminds me of the time a friend of mine and I played golf at the Homestead in Virginia.

Me: 1993 touring model FD
Him: BMW M3(?)

On the way back on the road that leads to Lexington, VA we hit a series of twisties. He hammers it and I am right after him. Each turn goes left and drops down then turns back to the right and up to the other side. The turns are so steep that I was looking through my sun roof to see my friend!!

What a blast!!

I think he has a 996, turbocharged.

I remember an older post of his about racing a c6 z06 'vette in his porsche, so yes, he does have one.
