MN2k6: Minneapolis...JGTCA Style meet...midwest meet

Dates figured out so far, August 25th and 26th. Meet up on Friday afternoon(?), get acquainted, maybe do some photoshoots, etc. Possibly a dinner out someplace with all of us together and then cruise down to Midway in Minneapolis and hang out together and possibly pick up more cars from people that aren't on the forums. The next day meet up at DB Performance, hang out, dyno, BBQ or something. Cruise, etc afterward either down to Midway or just drive around on the interstate . Chances are I will be there from the 25th-27th, but I realize not everyone may be available for the entire time. As more people submit interest, I will try to get an "Official Hotel" so we can all stay together if we are from outta town and maybe get cheaper rooms?

Pretty much any Japanese sports or vip/performance car that is RWD or AWD is welcome. I'd love to see some of you guys make an appearance! Should be a good time. So far we should have representatives from MN, WI, SD, IA, and ND, and maybe Manitoba. Stop by for 10 mins or hang out the entire weekend, we'd love to have you! If you are planning on coming from out of town, I need to know ASAP. Also, even if you are local I would still like to know so I can get an idea of a turnout etc.

Thanks,
Tony

PS: Pass the word on to anyone that you might think would be a good addition to the meet. Word of mouth will make this BIG! I have 2 video cameras lined up already but could use more and still cameras are always welcome as well! I would like to see a DVD of the event if big enough!

Sounds great. I think we can get some nice RX-7s to attend. Maybe even a 3-rotor. If at the Midway that's great. I'm at Porkys all the time.

Sweet! Fast response! Should be some sweet Supras and NSXs there as well! I'm bringing a 13g TT Stealth, GT35R STi, and a GT3076R EVO.

Yeah, I think Ken actually has a spot in the back room of Porkys that he stays in all the time. He's there everytime I've been there. hmm...

Event sounds fun!

I wanted to keep some exclusivity. I had to cut it off somewhere considering it started as just a Supra meet, and I think GT Cars belong together.

An orange 3/s from up that way, and I believe an MKIII Supra as well.

DB is supporting us. $60 for 3 pulls, I think they are kind of "frowning" on tuning. You might be able to do a little tuning if its quickly etc. I can ask them if you want a definate answer. My guess is it will depend on how many people are there as well.

Hey Jason! I'd be out with you guys more often but I live 2.25 hours away I moved out to Hackensack from Duluth back in september of last year. I'll be up this weekend though, so if theres anything happening on saturday, I'll probably stop out to where you guys are at (its been a few years since I've attended any races). I wanna see the progress on the build too!

Is there an agenda yet for this event? I have something I'd like to do Saturday and will cancel it if there is something going on in this event, else I'll be available the rest of the weekend events.

yeah, an agenda sounds good. i don't mean to sound like an ass but i've been to somewhat disorganized meets and it's a lot of standing around and waiting for people who don't really know what's going on. let's get at least a meeting spot nailed down. down at uni or whatever...

Sorry guys, this is the first time I've ever planned something like this so I am trying to do my best and get help from people. I am not from the Minneapolis area, so what would you guys recommend as a meeting place? I'd like to do something in a park or something, to kind of hang out a little bit, then cruise to Uni or whatever on Friday. Saturday, we will be meeting at DB Performance. I will get back to you later today about a time.

well i'm down to help out. i could get you a couple suggestions on meeting spots but people are going to bitch becasue they have to drive halfway across town. but that's nothing from where you are coming from.... so something 'park-like' somewhat near university so when it gets dark we have a short trip?

How about Como Park, big and close to Midway. Could gather at night a Rainbow Foods parking lot on Univ and Snelling(open 24 hours a day).

Sounds good to me! So Como Park=official meeting spot on Friday. I say the official meeting time should be 7pm, I don't want to make it too early that people can't get out of work in time, etc. If anyone else has any objections/better ideas let me know. Otherwise, 7pm Como Park.
