Ever wonder how much your 7 costed new?
I've managed to dredge up pricing on FC's ( specifically my own model yr
)
I can't believe how expensive the verts were!? 16 years ago the top trim was $41,090! Factoring 3% inflation over the years, not even compounded, that would price today for over $60,000! Additionally, the split between the cheapest and the most expensive is massive.
I've attached a pic of an Excel file with the full breakdown.

Wow, that's really something!
I wanted an RX-7 when the 2nd gens first came out. In 1986, whatever model I was looking at (probably a GX) was about $18,500. By the time I could afford such a thing in 1988, the price for the same model had skyrocketed to $24,500, which I just couldn't afford. So, I ended up with a 1988 Daytona Shelby Z instead which was $18,500. A turbo MX-6 was about the same $, but the plain Jane looks of the MX-6 didn't cut it with me.

this corresponds with the window sticker of my 10AE of $38,900.
But really... car prices have doubled since then... you could buy a cheap house for $45k in 1988.
only $6,100 more.
And you could get a "cheap" car back then for like $8,900 (1989 ford escort my aunt had)...
