Here's a couple of pics of the interface. ...asks for com port like Datalogit...I wonder if it would work with datalogit hardware. My car is torn down at the moment or I'd try it with Datalogit hardware.

I have the commander pro cable and software but i couldn`t get the jap software to work, I will try connecting to the power fc when i get back from work

Now I just need a cable or the box which are hard to come by. I might have to have my brother translate a few of the menus, as most are in English but some are Japanese. Does anyone know where you can either make or find a cable/box?

 

The FC Pro software doesn't work with the datalogit box.

Edit: With 3 com ports it would be possible to pipe the data from FC Pro through your own application and then to the datalogit box. You could also write a driver for a virtual com port which does the job.

 

An earlier thread talked about how Apexi was going to release the pro version to the public. Has anyone tried to purchase it. I believe it may have only been relased in japan that way. But if I can buy it and use this software with most of the translation it may be usable. I will give apexi a call later today to find out if it will be released in the US

 

You can purchase the FC Commander Pro software from Apexi with the cable/dongle for about $400.

 

There are a few of us in the UK that have the commander Pro cable and software but none of us have managed to get the software to work yet.
I tried the software for the link above, it runs on the laptop fine but crashes the pc when connecting to the power fc

You also need the code for the microcontroller (PIC) which you won't get from him. And without the software the hardware is useless.

But the FC Pro software should work with the FC Commander Pro cable.

 

whenever i try to connect i get a blue screen Stop error as follows:

I think it may have something to do with my USB - Serial converter?

 

I have had all kinds of problems with usb to serial converters. I wouldn't doubt this could be the same problem. It would be nice to get the cable though any of you guys in the UK be willing to be a middle man so I could get one?

I was told that the fc pro software is currently under translation and will be available to the public in 4 months.

 

The FC Pro software is and will only be released to licensed and authorized dealers, the FC Commander Pro software is already released to the public in Japan but most of the menus are only in japanese and with the FC Commander Pro software it is also only possible to access the same items as with the Commander.

FC Pro also doesn't seem to be compatible with the FC Commander Pro cable.

That's the FC Commander Pro software. For $420 it's really a rip-off. You can only access the same items as with the Commander and you just get a simple cable to connect to the Power FC. I would even recommend the Datalogit over the FC Commander Pro.

 

I was told by the Apex rep that it allows you to get into more options than the commander alone. He was not sure to the extent of the menus though. We'll just have to wait and see for sure. He said another 2-3 months for translation.

 

I have the software here, it's just the same as the Commander. No base maps, no ignition settings and only the same fuel settings as with the Commander.

 

That's great I told the rep that just a lap top interface is not whats needed we need to be able to have access to all the menus. The response I got was that people that have the PFC won't need to get into those menus. I just don't understand that when programs like datalogit and yours are used and needed. Goofy...

I have the NEW FC Pro software. It looks really close to the screenshots above:-) It has the Fmap and Tmap for fuel tuning:-)
