I'm in if it's the PanSpeed hood that Jucieh has.
Notice the two vents, the lower rise, and the LARGE main hole...

I'm also interested in your CF pricing...

If nothing else, if it's done in aluminum, I would still be interested.
I can put down $100...
The only other hood I've liked is the VIS Drift hood...

Our hoods are not very heavy. I should be able to get it at 15lbs. Possibly even less.

this is gonna be by far the quickest group buy.
Im interested either way, but the true panspeed (one in the video and the orange one) is much nicer IMO

Well that's the thing, they could make it pretty similar.. I am hoping it will be just as nice as the actual PanSpeed hood.

What really makes you think anyone interested in this is going to facet proper ducting or even cares about the true function of this hood? People like to make their cars look cool, it has about 1% to do with function outside of track cars.
Wow, you just sent the Rice-O-Meter off the charts with that one..

Not everyone half-asses their car just to "look cool". Some people actually do things the right way even if its just a street car. I'm sure there are plenty on here that will tell you that they would fully duct and seal their setups in a heartbeat if they had the time\money\materials\ambition etc. to do it. I've seen plenty of rx7s that never see track time with fully ducted setups. Mainly FD guys, because more of them seem to care about doing things right than the FC crowd.

FWIW, a wind tunnel tested(or even track tested) hood proven to help pull air out of the engine bay would benefit everyone who doesn't drift, or any street car that will drive straight and not sideways, which would include drift cars that are run on the street.... The vast majority of the time most of the buyers of this product(probably even including you unless your car is a drift track only car) will spend behind the wheel will not be on a drift track, unless they are drift only cars of course.

If he said he has the Panspeed hood and that he made a mistake on the picture with the black car, then he has a Panspeed hood

But as far as we know, he hasn't even opened the box yet. I'm still eager to see a picture of what's inside, even if other pics were posted before. Call it closure, if you will.

What sort of timeframe are we looking at before the hoods could be ready to ship?

Is there any possibly way to add a second smaller vent on the drivers side for symetry?
Kinda like the foresight hood?

I would prefer not to have two smaller vents, just the small one over the turbine, and the large one in the center.

I second that...if you want two little vents, buy the foresight hood

Alright guys. Here's the scoop. I will have pictures of it on the weekand. There's too many things going on over here during the weekday. I would like to get it on the FC we have here as well so you can see fitment pics etc etc..

I have not opened the box nor, looked inside of it but it does say Panspeed on the outside of the box in writing and since I ordered a Panspeed hood 2 years ago.. I am 100% sure I got a Panspeed hood . That is why I am not so eager to even take a look at it. It is what it is. If I take it out, I'm gonna want to put it on etcc etc.. which is a distraction during the weekdays. I prefer the weekands to install and take pics, upload to computer, upload to forum etccc etccc.

If the fitment meets "our" standards we can have a mold of this hood done within 1-2 weeks of confirmation of 15 individuals. From there on, we can produce roughly 2 per week. First come first serve based on list. If you pass on making full payment, I will simply move on to the next person in line and so on and so on.

I am NOT collecting deposits until after 15 individuals are on the list. It would be a waste of time to collect it at this point. All I ask is that the 15 individuals be sure this is the item he wants and be ready to make a deposit to CONFIRM this is the item he wants. So if you're interested, just get on the list.

I usually don't like to quote on a carbon fiber version without making one first to access the difficulty, time involved, and likelihood of error. However, it will not be less than $600 or more than $750. I hope that helps.

Regarding the weight of the hood, I can only use our sexy style replica as a close reference. My scale has been misplaced, so I will have to acquire a new one. I see this hood being between 9-15 lbs. I am not sure what the Panspeed one weighs, but we're always tweaking things to get the numbers we want. If we're lucky, we'll be close to 9. If the hood proves to be more intricate requiring more resin and fabric, then it would be close to 15.

Right on, that means I'll get the second hood
How much would a hood cost to ship to BC Canada?

Shipping a hood to Canada is expensive. It is $200.

I prefer to help you get on a list for combined shipping as our shipments don't exceed $250 regardless of the size of the box. It's a pretty neat fixed. rate we worked out with our shipping company.

http://www.forum.shineautoproject.co...read.php?t=104

Just add your name and email to the list. The list should be enough to make this shipment worthwhile.
