Well, I wouldn´t say knowledge. Rather comprehension of everything what I readed in the past 7 years and some common sense.

In this case, I simply didn´t buy talk about twisting and flexing etc. Just think about it, very high pressure acting over large housing surface. Pressure over area equals force which is acting through the dowel pins and eventually breaks dowel land. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why it happens even on low powered engine is again simple, too advanced timing itself creates higher peak pressures and/or detonation, which lifts apex seals from housing surface with consequent hot gas leakage to following chamber creating even worse detonation or preignition. Concept is simple, many people just overthink it.

Sorry for my hijack

Really Robert? If more companies made billet parts for rotary engines the supply would increase and demand would most likely be low or the same which would drive the cost of the parts down. Also, if more companies made parts they would have to compete with one another and this would also drive the cost down. Look at the price for forged and billet parts for piston engines when they first came out until now. Simple economics Einstein. I guess you would nothing about that because all you do is build race cars that collect dust in your shop and get kicked off forums. Why don't you bring your car to the track? What are you affraid of? I bet you don't beat my 12abp time. Bring it out hotshot.

It's nice you are close to them. I was surprised the place was that big. So what were you there for

Damn Jay! Sounds like something personal....

As for the Gforce tranny's breaking, I broke 3rd gear on mine, had some mishaps before it happened and I think that is what damaged the gear. I was doing a dry 3rd gear burnout when my rear locked up instantly but it broke the next time I took it to the track as soon as I hit 3rd. I posted the damage and yellow bullet and every response from the guys that run the tranny mention the clutch setup. It's replaced now so we will know soon lol.

you seriously have no idea what you're talking about. any billet race part, even those made in mass quantity is going to cost an arm and a leg simply due to the nature of the process. it is very time an material intensive. for any billet part, you start from a raw blank stock which is expensive to begin with. you then whittle away most of the material, which ends up as scrap. To even recycle the the scrap metal by remelting and reforging it into new blanks very cost intensive. No amount of mass production is going to change that.

secondly, you have a third grader's understanding of economics. no scenario will ever exist where there is high supply and low demand for these parts. no mfgr is stupid enough to mass produce a large supply of these parts when the there is no underlying demand to support them. supply and demand are not mutually exclusive.

hello guys My buddy just purchased a GForce tranny and he wants to get a mid plate and he not sure where to start . He had a question too the shifter is on top and he needs to mount it on the side like some of the pictures I see here. Someone told him he needs to purchase a custom bell housing. But I see here that a mid plate was made then a mazda housing was used so the Starter could fit.

reason he wants shifter on side is cuz is wider with shift on top .
ill post Pictures of what he has and what he needs .
Thanks guys.

I'd leave the shifter the way it is. You'll have way more room in the car with the rollover conversion done the way it is.

E&J makes mid plates. You can get one with either a GM or Mazda bell pattern. Get the GM pattern and then you can use any GM bell. Or, get the Mazda pattern and use a Mazda bell which will simplify flywheel/starter/clutch combinations. Quicktime makes a Mazda to GM bell. I talked to them at PRI last year and they told me they could do a custom bell for the rollover box like you have.
