Hybrid 13B Motor Need Help
My names Bryant I have an 83 rx7 has Front/ Intermediate/Rear Housing are from a 84-85 GSL-SE. Rotor Housings are from a 88-89 Turbo ii for Better exhaust flow with no baffle plates is this common? I bought the Car a week ago and I have Put some money into it and want to know if I should stop It has a dellorto carb and right under the Carb there were two dimes capping some holes in the motor, but I dont know what goes there? is that for emissions? when i stuck a rag in there to cap it car idles and runs fast but if it comes loose it starts to misfire and shake pretty bad any suggestions on what the two holes could be and if the engine set up is common? Im just learning to work on the car to get it running correctly before I learn how to add any mods to it.
Greatly appreciate the feed back.

Bry,
where the dimes are is the laocation holes for the secondary fuel injectors for the -se engine. so now being carbed you need to plug the holes correctly so you do not have an air leak. mine are made from two pieces of round stock aluminum made from racing beat usa. purchase them and install and all should be well.

welcome to the board.
i guess i should encourage you to do it right, which would be to buy or fabricate so injector block-offs. however, having never bought "proper" block-off nozzles, and having used dimes myself, you need to seal them with silicone. i ran like that for about 6 years. no issues. no vacuum leaks. you need to eliminate all vacuum leaks before you start tuning the Dell.
those holes are actually for the PRIMARY injectors - and if the engine is really an S3 (SE) engine, then it's just "the injectors" because the SE only had 2.
out of sheer curiosity, are you sure the engine was hybridized as you said? also, '88 and '89 span two Series' of engines.
