Help on harnesses
So I am currently selling my set up which is a Haltech and switching it to a 440D Adaptronic ecu. What I want to know is that do I need a original s5 t2 harness to hook it up to the Adaptronic ecu or need complete customize harness for it?
As of right now I only have a customize complete Harness for the Haltech and i am selling it with that ecu.

Adaptronic sells a Select PnP for both S4 and S5. Simply acquire the correct stock harness for whatever series motor is in your car and purchase the correlating unit. Some mods will require modification to the harness, such as direct fire or FFE trigger, but you will cross that bridge if/when you have those mods.

Ok, i wasnt sure if it comes with a harness or not. But my mechanic told me to do a universal one for easier access to what i need and what i dont need. But really isnt it the same features?

I keep wondering why people would spend big bucks to get a Brand New ECU then hook it up to 25 year old crappy wiring.
Isn't that part of the reason why you would switch out the System?..to alleviate any qualms about the wiring or parts associated with the Engine management system?
(*Fair Warning: If ANYBODY answers this thread with "I'll buy your Haltech" I will have to shut it down as it clearly states in the Sticky above that this Section is TECH and is not going to be turned into a For Sale/Want to Buy Section...sorry man..gotta mention that.)
Now,your Mechanic is Right and you should get a Universal Harness as you can hook up anything you want to the System and can add stuff later.
Stock wiring has so much you can do to it and frankly I shudder every time I hear or see someone using it to run a $6K build with a $2k ECU..It's asking for trouble.
I knew pretty much what I wanted when I Ordered a PS1000 so I had the Dealer make the harness but he left the extra wiring nicely done up on there so I could add accessories later.

Awesome feedback bro!! Yes, I was just wondering what was the difference about the 440D and PnP. And now I know. Because they both pretty much are the same price. I am only switching my set up because the tuner who I want to tune only tunes Adaptronic, so I have to say goodbye to my Haltech. Now, I just to find some body to customize the 440D harness to my liking....... The struggle's

A well kept OEM harness with a PnP is the way to go, IMO, vs Joe Schmoe's cold-soldered, taped, and butt connected harness.

As of right now I think the best way for my set up is a Universal custom harness. I think the PnP would have been easier if I didn't switch to much already and for future preference if I wanted to go to a different series engine it will be easier for me to switch up the harness instead of the PnP ECU series.
