Gsl-se, won't start

Hey Guys, If You Saw My Last Post. Then You Know That I'm New To The RX7 Club, Let's Start Off by Saying i Know Absolutely NOTHING About Forums. and They're a Little Hard For Me To Read. Having Said That, i Own a 1985 RX7, GSL-SE. First Gen, With a 13b Motor In It. Wow. and, Am i a Proud Owner However, The Other Day i Was Out Running Errands, and She Was Running Perfectly. Got Home before 2, and Later That Evening My Bf and i Decided To Go To The Gas Station. He Asked If i Could Drive, i Said Yes. We Live Out In New Mexico, and Lately The Weather Has been a Bit Bi-Polar. Super Cold at Night, Warm During The Day, Then We Get Inches Of Snow, and 10 Minute Thunderstorms. It Was About 10 PM, The Evening before Yesterday. My Car Just Couldn't Fire Up! Normally, She Doesn't Have an Issue With Cold Weather. All The Lights Were Dim, and Freaking Out. So, My First Initial Thought Was, "Ohkay, She's Flooded. and It's Time i Get a New Battery" Proceeded To Go To AutoZone The Next Day, Bought a Battery. Installed It, and Tried Cranking It. Still, a Whole Lot Of Nothing. by The Way, New Spark Plugs, (a Few Months Old) Spark Plug Wires, Battery, and Terminals. What The Hell's Going On? Pulled The Spark Plugs Out- Covered In Gas. In Theory, My Plugs Should Have been Alright. but, iFelt as If They Were a Little Fried. Just Basic Wear and Tear, Covered In Gas. So, Today, i De Flooded The Engine, and Dried Out My Spark Plugs. Reconnected Everything, and Still, Nothing. She Wants To Start Though, I'm Positive My Starter Is Getting Power. and It Smells Of Gas, (When i De Flooded It) So, I'm Assuming My Fuel Pump Is Working Properly. Waiting On New Spark Plugs To Come In, but i Know You Need Air, and Pressure To Start The Car. What Kinds Of Things Should i Check For? Everything i Have Researched Online Has Suggested i Unplug The EGI Fuse Located Under The Hood. However, I'm Having a Lot Of Trouble Locating That Fuse Box. Never Had an Issue With This Car, and Is In Stellar Condition. besides The Fact That i Have Had a Bad Battery and Terminals. but All Is Replaced, So, Why Isn't She Firing Up? Please, Any Suggestions Would be Greatly Appreciated. I'm Starting College Soon, and i Really Need My Baby Fixed. Thanks Guys..

Okay, first things first.

You noted it was hard for you to read the forums. It is especially hard to read a lengthy post where all the first letters of a word are capitalized. You can also space out a lengthy paragraph by using an empty line like I did above. It helps keeps your post organized.

Now; you have a flooding issue. Your assumptions were correct. To deflood the engine the easiest way is to remove the EGI fuse, which is located on the driver side of the engine compartment towards the front of the car. It is a long skinny black box that has a cover on it. Remove the cover and use the printed key to figure out which fuse is the EGI. I believe it is the top fuse, closest to the engine. Remove that, try to start the car for a few seconds and put the fuse back in. Try to start again. Repeat process until it fires.

If you continue to have problems starting it, you can clean the plugs off and make sure they are dry before putting them back in. In addition, put some oil in the spark plug holes before installing them. This will aid you in getting your car running again. I've never had to do this myself, usually removing the fuse works for me. If you are really flooded, you'll need the oil and to clean off the plugs.

Macy,
Have you tried reading your Threads?.
Your college teacher would slap you if you handed in a Paper with anything that resembled that manner of "penmanship".

Making your Thread easy to read is really a benefit to you.
It will help you get answers faster. It will also decrease members from getting headaches and stop wishing that the fleas of 1000 camels infest your armpits!

If you will excuse me now I have to find my Tylenol.(..jab,jab!)

My SE lost spark a couple weeks back after sitting. I wiggled the connections (maybe a little corrosion on the connection) on the Fusible Links. Spark returned, was still a little flooded so as I cranked the engine I held the go pedal on the floor ( give it more air) and fired right up.

My 85 does not have an engine compartment fuse box, just the fusible links (short piece of wire, where the fuse box is on the 2 Gen)

Check out the FSM for more on fusible links
