FD O2 Sensor Connector - Harness Side

Hey all,

I recently noticed that the outer shielding on the oxygen sensor (harness side) for my FD is broken. I don't have any CELs and the cable itself does not look like it has any split wires.

My question is, are there any issues with the cable being exposed like that? Would it be possible to re-wrap the exposed part or even splice the cable and add a new connector?

Let me know your suggestions. See picture below for reference. Thanks!

Hard to tell, but if the wire is for the most part intact, just wrap it with self-fusing silicone tape.

^Agree. It's good stuff and available at my local big-box hardware store. If you're not familiar, this is an example --->https://www.menards.com/main/electri.../p-1914286.htm
It makes it pretty weather-proof and good in the high heat. But it doesn't like chaffing or oil. I'd put some of that corrugated loom protector back over it once re-covered.
