exhaust advice
I have a full rb exhaust.
Not sure about downpipe but its pretty quiet. I was thinking about after midpipe instead of dual rb mufflers, just run 2 2.5" straight pipes out the back. How would that sound? Its turbo II and would be bigger flames? I have full emissions delete

uh..ya..ok..( I'm willing to bet you are under 25)
Sorry,Loud and Obnoxious is what gets you pulled over.
The only thing you will hear is "YOU in the Rx7..pull over"...That is if your ear drums aren't blown from Straight pipes.
EDIT: sorry, had to come back in and say this:
I'm just saying that it won't just be the Loud noise and so on that you have to deal with.
Your car is meant to have some kind of suppression on it to make it run correctly. The Turbo will boost creep real bad and BOOM..
You want to run straight pipes, then make the engine accept the fact that it CAN run correctly with the modification.
You can't just take parts off and expect the car to run "better".(loud is not better)
Otherwise I can see you looking for parts ..shortly...in the FS Section.

Mmmm....wanting "bigger flames"; has 'FormulaD' in his username; likes being obnoxiously loud because he thinks that's "badass", even though it won't necessarily add performance. And makes statements like this:
I'm trying to figure out if OP is a troll or a teenager with really poor spelling.
Oh well, to answer your first post, pull that RB exhaust off and put some straight pipes on. Make some responsible owner here happy by making them a deal on the quality exhaust. The car isn't likely to last long anyway.

well, he stated/hinted at it in the line preceding that one. the cliff's notes version is basically, as you remove restriction in the exhaust on a turbocharged car, it will tend to raise the boost a little and it may or may not do so past the "safe" limit of the ECU. the apex seals then may or may not agree with your decision and choose not to participate any more.
that said, i just read one of these "i want my car louder"-threads (within the hour), so i apologize if i come off a bit harsh, but if you want to deliberately make the car obnoxious for other reason that because you can (not for increased performance), then it's your car. do as you wish!
and don't worry, if you're young, i get it. this isn't me condemning loud cars. i just find questions or advice-seeking that's really just someone looking to justify or see how many people are impressed by their decision a bit tedious lately.
as for your question (if it REALLY is a question) ... my best advice would be to try to youtube it. coming here and asking how it will sound is bound to get all kinds of conflicting answers. what sounds good to me may not sound good to Misterstyx69, may not sound good to Sgtblue, etc. - but may in fact sound good to you.

make you car loud.
I won't hear the thing anyways,My 6000 watt sound system will make your car sound stock.Actually If you pulled up beside me I wouldn't even know you are there!

The sales growth of Harley Davidsons (formally known as John Deere) have taken a lot of the risk out of a loud after-market exhaust. But loud exhausts will still garner LE attention at inconvenient times. And I still think straight pipes on a turbo rotary will not only sound silly, but smell like *** and carry the possibility of leading to an over-boost situation. The latter likely costing an engine and turbo.
But you're right, it's his car.

Racing Beat is designed for Rotary engines.Maximizing the power while keeping the flow within the engines 'safe zone'..and also the fact that the 'noise' is only there when you Punch it.
Other well known exhausts Like Apexi,HKS etc are specific to the car for reasons stated..not because they are louder than stock.
Cheaper Fart cans will make the car sound louder..If that is your goal.
But I still stick by the words that Loud does not necessarily mean powerful.
Now,building up your powerplant and having control of the fuel and boost this is a way to get the car to be more powerful.
Yes,it will start getting Noisy but then again at least there would be a reason for it.When you slap on the exhaust it would make the car a whole new animal.
No exhaust suppression from the engine to the back of the car is not meant for the Street.
I can't and won't advise anyone to drop their exhaust just for the sake of making the car louder. It doesn't achieve anything, and honestly it will bite you in the ***..one way or another.
If you want to alter your system and "cheapen the effectiveness of your exhaust system" then sell your working Racing Beat system and build your own exhaust.Single exit exhausts are fairly aggressive but yet have a "muffler" on them.(And I use that term loosely)
BUT at least it has some form of suppression.
You may get away with a Fart can if pulled over, but if your car is yanked by POPO with NO exhaust..don't post and ask why.
(straight pipes..for racing,at the track..or Crack.)
