Spec B Shine Auto Kit vs VIS R Speed
Hello,
So I'm genuinely curious if anyone has used the R Speed kit from VIS on their FD?
From what it looks like, it is also a replica of the Burnout kit that a lot of you have.
Is the quality of the Shine Auto kit really that much better?
I figured if there was going to be some body work adjustment either way I go, how bad can the VIS kit actually be?
Widebody fenders aside, they look mostly the same.
Here is the kit in question:
...and obviously the Shine Auto kit:

The pic that you posted is the original kit from burnout, the kit that shine auto makes is a replica of that. With that said, Shine Auto has proven to have very good fitment. Checkout this thread for actual pictures of shine auto Ks kits:

I don't know anything about the ViS kit but that car pictured looks very familiar to this car:

So you may want to contact evotechnik for questions regarding his kit.

Actually I spoke to ken once regarding the feed style skirts and I was very impressed with his customer service. I have seen a few of his products up close and personal and I didn't see any real flaws. Not that I was looking for them, I just didn't notice any.

I thought most people were extremely happy with Ken's products . Did you get it straight from them?

Don't get me wrong, Shine Auto seems like a very reputable company, and I've heard and seen quality product. I was more curious on if anyone has actually run the VIS kit at all?
My only experience with them is with hoods, which I had on my NSX and it fit nicely. I was hoping it translated over to their kits.
Hood in question:
But companies all have strengths and weaknesses, of course...
More feedback appreciated!

Hello, fellas. Just wanted to update the thread.
I went and bought the VIS kit -- I guess they didn't have a mold for the front bumper, so I ended up going with another one.
The actual pieces for the Burnout/Shine sideskirts and rear bumper fit near perfect.
The VIS front bumper that I got instead of the Burnout/Shine style from VIS sucked horribly.
I'll see if I can get photos after body work...just wanted to update everyone. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
I know Shine Auto Kits fit great, but this might be a good alternative for anyone that is looking for a decent fitting kit. Just a shame I couldn't get the front bumper.

I am little bit confused by your post.
So you bought a complete kit from ViS minus the bumper.... Did you go with another model from ViS or a completely different vendor?
This is the part that I don't get: The actual pieces for the Burnout/Shine? I thought you just said you bought the complete kit from ViS? And another thing: did you get the pieces from Burnout or Shine? Makes a big difference when reporting who you bought your kit from.
Wow that bumper is not fitting too good. What model did you go with?

I'm working on getting the front bumper to fit now. My body shop says it's gonna be a little work. I'm still really curious how their mold is for the R-speed front bumper.
Wonder if it would have fit better than what I have.

Hello,
So I know it's been a while but I had to put off working on the car in light of other things, but I finally got it back from paint; the sideskirts and rear bumper fit near perfect with very little modification.
The front bumper from VIS was bad, so it had to be re-worked in order to fit. (As seen in the previous photos)
Overall, it was decent! Here are some photos:
I need new wheels.
