Tuning questions, moved to a higher altitude
88TII, Haltech E6k, just got the car back from a years worth of mods in Dallas. Chris Ott tuned it out great in Dallas but I live at around 3300 feet above sea level. The only thing I've done since I got the car back last week was install a vent cover over the passenger headlamp. I run a 62-1 turbonetics and the filter is right there below that vent.
Issue: WHen the car is cold the idle is rough and you have to keep on the gas till it warms up. Once warm it idles pretty good but still a little rough. SHould I goto the cold map and adjust the fuel since I'm up in elevation about 2000 feet from where it was tuned? Will the vented cover change the a/f? What map and what should I do first? try leaning it a bit or richening it abit for a higher elevation?
Also my knocksensor at 16psi high rpms under full boost activates and the guage lights up about 2 or 3 bulbs which I think is about a 2 degree retard on the timing.
I am running Sunoco 110 race fuel exclusively in it.
This is a good starting point I think. If you need any other info please post up and I will reply.
I'd like to know where to start correcting for altitude and the ventcover.
Thank You!
