First impression on lake city 12a 45DCOE weber kit
I just got mine installed today. Took me about 3 hours while I was also working on two Hondddaas they seem to break down more than my rx7 now.
So far I'm playing with the fuel pressure but like always I'm guessing because of the innacuracy of the gauge I got.
SO far my first impression is much better throttle response from 2k to 7k. It's very linear as opposed to the jetted nikki I got.
The carb really screams at about 4k and up.
would you guys like to see some cool pics?
I got the car downstairs, not at the shop...I lost the damn keys to my truck and had to got home in the rx to get the spare. Needless to say I took the long way home

I'm experiencing hesitation under 2k i guess that's normal because I have read it everywhere...just got back from a slight tuning session. It's all about fuel pressure from now on...jets are perfect.

It should not have any falter below 2k. It was always my favourite Weber, great as a twin set up on several different Lotus. On a Cooper S the manifold was so long it came through the dash. After a bit of tuning, both set-ups were was smooth all the way up from idle. With open stacks you had no problem with exhaust noise.

I have the exact same setup on my 12a but I have a 48dcoe. I am having lots of problems with mine though. Mine will spit and sputter at about 3k when I am just cruising around. I am thinking its my jets but I have no one here who knows anything about them. Can you get smaller emulsion tubes like you can get smaller jets and do you think that would fix the problem?

no...believe or not there is plenty of space there. It's seems close because I have an A/C line, fuel line and wiring blocking the view of the space. BTW those run way above the space not by the carb. Under all that there is about the same clearance from the mouth of an unfiltered nikki carb to the hood.
Best improvement was a quick throttle response and awesome top end performance.

when my dell was spitting and sputtering around 3k-4k, it was apparantly running waaaay rich. i used smaller idle jets and main jets and it seemed to clear it up. probably the best thing to do would be to get an A/F ratio gauge and see just where you need to lean it out in the range. it's been beat to death, but go to www.gruntled.com for some good info on setting sidedraft carbs. dells and webers are pretty close in their setups, so hopefully that'll get you in the ballpark for settings.
