My 10th AE getting a face lift.

Since the original paint wasn't the best anymore I shipped my car out to ClassicAuto Body to get a complete repaint. Its going to stay stock colour. Alot of new trim has been purchased to clean it up such as door trims, window trims etc.

More pictures to come.

Paint stripped no. Thats what he is doing. Removed all of the engine components that you don't see in the picture included headlights and trim, a/c, etc etc. Took the door panels out, and had the front bumper loose. He will be doing the sunroof, doorhandles, rear bumper and whatever signal lights I didn't take out.

It going through a complete paint. Anything that can't get removed stays. IE the only thing not getting painted is the under carriage. That is just unaffordable

I will be getting more pictures from ClassicAuto so I will post when I can.

When I had mine painted it was very blinding to look at in the bright sun. I can't wait to see it.

It's too bad they're such a pain in the *** to paint properly with the bad factory primer and all. Mine started peeling (rear 1/4 panel) only 2 years after I got mine painted because they didn't strip all the old paint off first.

Joe, if you read this, answer your PM's!

That is why the paint is getting stripped to bar metal. Costs more but don't want that peeling ****. Mind you my paint didn't peel till two years ago.

Alot for some a litte bit for others

Its hard to say really. I understand fully how much work and effort "ClassicAuto" Joe is putting in the car so even though I think the price is high its justified. Not all cars require the paint to be stripped and I believe my car needs very little body work so prices can be different between cars. I also bought a few peices that cost me a standard paint job such as window and door trims and used rear bumper, rear underpan and stock S5 side skirts etc etc.

Best is just to swing by the shop and get a quote.

I don't have any pm's from you? But it seems to happen to me alot. I try to keep the inbox as clean as I can........anyways, resend or email me.

Ian more pics to come next week! Fitting skirts and diffuser.....

To questions of price, there's alot of variables involved in a paint job. Basics can remain the same but everything is pretty much a per-case basis. Send me pics and we go from there.

The STI Subaru white was nice. Not sure what kind of white pearl to use. I've seen some cars that had a pearl added to it that ruined the paint.

Its still not to late.

The STI white is very clean. Alot of pearl whites end up looking dirty because the pitch/flop of some of the pearl toners are yellow. There's very few "bright" looking pearl whites, but I have a couple candidates if you're thinking of that route Ian.

Thats why I didn't want to go pearl white since all cars that were white painted with a pearl looked dirty.

Let me know what kinds of pearl will look clean. I love white cars and have always like the stock 10th AE colour but if I can paint a pearl that looks insanely clean and brighter then standard white I'm game?

How would I see an example of colour?

I should swing by your shop joe....
