Here's a link to my introduction on this forum with the beginning of my build

https://www.rx7club.com/introduce-yo...b-rx7-1080772/

If there is a possible way to transfer all of the pictures and posts over in an easier way, just let me know.

Anyways, I have completed a couple more things recently. My intake manifold has been ported and I have my intake and carburetor ready to be mounted. I'm gonna take the car in hopefully this week to get the exhaust done.

Once that's finished I can actually install the intake and then I just need to wait for a fitting for one of my oil cooler lines and then I can make some more progress and possibly have the car fired up by the middle of March.

Here's some pictures!

So I have been able to make some much needed progress! The car is up and running and it will be going in to get the exhaust done on Monday. After that I'll be able to drive the car around town and I can start the body work.

I was able to get a temporary exhaust mounted, which is a bit better than just an open header. The OMP was plumbed into the carburetor and I was able to get an electric fan with a separate thermo controller.

I ran into a couple fuel leaks before I turned the engine over and I was able to fix those and there were a couple of minor oil and coolant leaks that were fixed once the car was turned over for the first time. These were only minor leaks coming from areas like the OMP lines and the bottom coolant hose not being completely tight.

It took a while to get the engine to turn over and since the car was an automatic we had to fix the neutral safety switch and then it cranked over right after. The car only took a short amount of time to start up and once the idle adjustment was fixed the car would idle perfectly.

I have started the car a couple times since then and it idles perfectly everytime and the temperatures are all within range. I have driven it on the street and the only thing that might need a bit of tuning is the timing since it has a bit of stutter in the 2k range, but I'm somewhat expecting that with the porting done to it.

I'm hoping the break in period goes well and I can start enjoying this car for the first time in 2 years!

Some more updates

Took the car in for an exhaust, I'll be running the racing beat disassembled road race header with a true dual exhaust all the way back to a couple of presilencers. I'm experimenting with how they'll work and hopefully it won't be too loud.

My rear brakes were locking up and I couldn't figure out why, and then I later found out that I had the calipers switched, which was causing no fluid to get to one of the calipers and it made the emergency brake partially on the entire time. I fixed that and now I'm going to get a new rear hard line for one of the calipers since it is continuously leaking at a slow pace.

After that has been done, I think I should be able to drive the car around. I don't have any more leaks around the engine and it is idling perfectly, I might need to change the timing just a bit.

I'm planning for some track events in October/November.

Progress update!

Car has been running quite well, have been having constant issues with the brakes locking up but I think all the bugs have been worked out. I haven't been able to drive it more than 1/4 of a mile without a full lockup, I'm hoping that in the next couple weekends I will be able to drive it around town.

Also had a full custom exhaust made at a local shop. It consists of the disassembled rb header with a full dual system running to the rear where two presilencers sit back behind the axle. I have a removable center section which I'm hoping i can either add presilencers or switch their existing position with a muffler. It is still a bit loud but it could be streetable.

Sourced a set of rear coilovers from T3 and fabricated them to fit, quite easy.

Most interior parts have been accounted for and will need repainting and then reassembly.

All gauges work and are giving correct readings, some connections were being pulled a bit much so the wires weren't getting any current.

I have sourced an interesting cosmetic part from Japan and I'll wait to post what it's about until it has arrived and been fitted.

Next things on the list are :
Bucket seat
Widen rear fenders to fit wheels or have axles redrilled to 4x114.3.
Tuning
Break-in period

Hopefully I'll have some more pictures and videos in the upcoming weeks.

Much progress has been made recently and I went out for the first successful test drive yesterday! But unfortunately the stock alternator went out so I plan on upgrading to a higher output alternator, likely from an FD.

Car felt really good and almost everything is new on the car, including steering, suspension, fluids, and most importantly the engine!

Here's a rundown of all the upgrades done to it so far:

Exterior:
Wing (not installed yet)
Aftermarket bumper (still shipping)
13x8 and 13x9 Riverside R109 wheels wrapped in Federal SS 595 185/60 tires

Suspension & Steering:
New T3 coilovers on rear and front
Koni inserts installed on front coilovers
T3 camber plates
T3 RCA's
T3 LCA's
New tie rods, ball joints, idler arms, steering fluid
New brake rotors, pads, bearings, some hard lines, all soft lines

Interior:
Gauges (oil pressure, oil temperature, water temperature) stock water temp works too
Bucket seats in the future
LRB door panels in the very near future. My stock door panels had speaker holes mangled into them
Removing window tint will happen in the next couple of days

Engine:
Rebuilt 12a with half-bridge
Port matched IDA intake
Weber 48 IDA, will post jetting once car is tuned
Carter fuel pump
Custom true dual exhaust with two pre-silencers (one for each pipe)
RB weld yourself header
E-fan (forgot which brand, will post it later) and it comes with a really nice controller that helps with wiring
New alternator in the next couple weeks
Aluminum radiator
MSD leading ignition coil, stock trailing

I will update more progress as I'm now motivated to drive the thing and get the rebuild miles out of the way. Looking forward to having a car that can be taken to the track!

They are from Japan and the brand is called Riverside and the model is R109, they are 13x8 front and 13x9 rear, I don't remember the offsets off the top of my head, but they are 4x114.

I had them re-barreled at Wheelflip in Southern CA.

The car is running an adapter to run 4x114, with a 10mm spacer up front to clear the LCA. I plan on having the rear axle machined in the future to 4x114 so that I at least don't need to run an adapter in the rear, which should help with the offset.

just need's to be lowered and also have you thought about putting on some black small fender flares would make it stand out even more

It's on coilovers so I can adjust it to where it sits wayyyy too low.

But for the first test drive I didnt want to deal with any scraping to make sure everything sounded right.

The front sits well with the fenders so it won't need flares. But the rear might be too wide even with the removal of the adapter, but I'm not a big fan of bolt-on flares so my favored option will be to do a custom metal fender before it gets repainted, that way it looks close to stock, but gives me room for bigger tires!
