My black and red build thread
Well I wanted to share some photos with the forum and hopefully I will get this car running in the near future. The story is I blew the motor in late 2005 and then left the car with someone I trusted to work on it. Not much got done while at his house and then it sat in my garage for a few years.
When I brought it home 4/13/08:
Engine was rebuilt, harness was cut:
Somehow water got inside and interior was moldy:
Ripped out the interior:
Gave her a bath:

Decided to go red and black everything:
Put the motor and trans back in:
Started painting and powder coating everything gloss black:
Mounted the Greddy IC and dual oil coolers:
Relocated the relay and fuse boxes and ran my main body harness a little differently:

All loomed up:
Drove this thing all the way to Sevenstock 13 from Jersey!
That's all I have pictures of at the moment, but I will post some new shots tomorrow.
Comments and constructive criticism appreciated.

Damn Steve, I would've ridden shotgun out to Cali for SSXIII if I would've known you were going out there in that 75 hp machine
Are you still friends with the guy that had your car for years?

Thanks Rich!
Really like what you're doing. I have always thought people spent too little time thinking about the result of using all kinds of different colored things in the engine bay and interior, as well as the little thing son the outside, like the wheels. Keeping the colors to black and red really makes the car hang together. It looks more professional. More factory. Looks really nice. I look forward to seeing it finished.

Thank you, I encourage anyone with access to an old oven to buy a powder coating kit and give it a try. Its so easy to work with I wish tried it years ago.
And no I am not friends with that guy anymore!
Thanks!
Yea I've never seen an all black engine bay in person. Hopefully with the red it will pop and not look too dark.

The boot is just propped up in that pic and will sit like stock once I install a ****. I've driven a few FDs with short shifter kits installed and decided to stay with stock as I prefer the feel.
