Appreciate it Brent. Good to hear from ya bud

Roger, can't wait. This SakeBomb sponsorship sure is paying off

Yup, I've been a Fikse ***** since 1999, probably owned or sold over 25 sets now

Thanks Logan.... right now I'm focusing on exterior/interior/reliability before DGRR, so she'll be lucky to have 300 rwhp on the Dragon unfortunately.
Ah yeah I didnt mean by deals gap. The Rx7 wont be there this year unfortunately, 3 weeks isnt enough time with everything else going on. Just make sure you go through that tranny on this one, cant keep losing to lower power n/a cars.

Just bustin your *****. Continue with the build thread!

Some yummy parts, I'm guessing you're going the the Ohlin's DFVs?

Curious to see how they compare to the zeals you previously had.

I'm told it's one of maybe three in the USA, but the price of exclusitivity didn't come cheaply

I was quite surprised when the stripped and caged track car with ultra-wide Hoosiers pulled away in the twisties from the FD street car on street tires

Yessir, I rec'v a nice delivery today from Sakebomb..... 'The Original Gold.' Stoked to mount them this weekend. I have a professional fender rolling master coming up from Willytown to assist in the install

Sorry to hear about the VR but I love how the new one is coming along. Do you plan on selling the Fiske wheels anytime soon? I'd be interested in them.

Thumbs up

Wrenched on the car most of yesterday with one of the Founding Fathers of SBG

She now has a new bumper, new coilovers, & expertly rolled fenders along with some weight reduction: tossed the OEM fog lights, front air guide, and front airbag module.

I contemplated many different front bumpers, and decided to go back to the OEM '99 Spec because of it's polyurethane construction and superior fitment. I also like the styling--updated and aggressive without looking like an alien spaceship or smiling clown

The bumper install done 'right' with all the minor details is a bit involved, not all of this is required of course:

*Cerama-black the top bumper mounting bracket
*transfer over all the misc brackets and guides
(pop riveting is fun...not)
*install front mesh in center opening
(had a body shop pro do this. Came out much better than DIY)
*Uras flat-black combination lights
(NLA and gives a nice unique 'non-oem' look)
*R-Magic oil cooler ducts for R1 coolers
(fitment on these is pretty good)
*Drastically modified front rebar for combo lights and ducts
(Airsaw is 100% necessary here)
*relocated horn and extended power wire
('99 bumpers with horn peaking through D/S oil cooler opening not allowed)
*new Flying 'M' Mazda badges
*'RX-7' front plate from my bud Nick Y.

Initial impressions on the coilovers are that the car feels VERY stable and composed, and rides a bit like a sport luxury car. Worth every penny so far.

And speaking of weight reduction... pulled off the almost-new suspension that was on the car (which is for sale of course) in favor of Ohlins DFV Road&Track.

Ohlins DFV FF: 9.2#
Ohlins DFV RR: 8.2#
Konis/PFS Comfort FF: 13.0#
Konis/PFS Comfort RR: 12.2#

A reduction of almost 16 pounds in unsprung weight is a pretty damn good day in my book

Scrubby-spec pictars coming soon

PM me if interested in Fikse wheels, I'm a dealer for them and have helped many FDs guys mount top quality wheels on their whips

Yes sir, that is a 350mm wheel. Perfect size IMO. Not too small, not too big.

The exhaust was picked up in NYC from purerx7/rx7boutique. Nice low rumble at idle and WOT, but pretty quiet at cruise. The muffler is huge so I expected it.
