high miles.......feeling a blown motor coming soon.....street ported or reman next?
i have about 95,000 miles on the car, i dont drive it much caz i have 2 cars. The 7 is my baby so she is not beat......but if the engine goes and I know it someday will, get a mazda reman. or a stage 2 street ported. And where is the best place to get the motor, quality and price wise
thank you,

if your car is the stock one in your signature, i say get the reman and keep it as stock as you can, but if you plan on goin for power, nothing beats the performance of a ported engine. personally, i'd go stock, but that's just me!

No it's not Turbo'd
If you want to go ported you're better off getting new houseings / replace what's worn beyond tollerances, since a reman doesn't come ported, so you have to pay someone to tear it appart and port it... which will end up costing more than porting what you have, and just replacing what's worn beyond specs...
Just a Thought...
Personally I'm verry happy with my ported engine from Rotary Power, in Gardena, Ca.... but I don't really see a need for you to ship it across country... I'm sure someone can give you a good reccomendation on the east coast...

Hey, I'm on Long Island too
I'd say have the motor rebuilt locally using higher quality silicon seals and maybe other internal mods if you gots cash. Keep the stock ports so you can emissions when needed.
I had mine rebuilt and installed at J&R in elmont. They did a great job. Given the mileage, you might want to also have the fuel pulsation dampener and stock fuel lines replaced and also rewrap the rats nest with some nice heat resistant material.
don't forget a fresh clutch since everything is out and maybe a light flywheel (if you got extra $$).
Again is you got some $$ burning a hole in your pocket, you can have the intakes manifolds jet-hot coated to help keep you air temps lower and the downpipe as well.
