Compliments to the FD

This may be a stupid thread, should be fun nonetheless so here goes..

FD's get alot of attention when out and about, it seems everywhere i go in my FD its getting attention weather its just looks from people in their cars or young guys hanging out the window of their car yelling at you how cool your car is and trying to get you to do burnouts, these cars get attention.

so, what compliments have you guys had while out in your FD's? (yes if someone crashes while looking at your car you can take that as a compliment)

i myself have had cops ask if my car is some kind of corvette, old guys admiring the car wondering what on earth it is, people asking to sit in the car/get photos of the car and a girl telling me if my car had a dick she would fucjk it .. (she had to settle for second best as the car had no dick)

so im sure you guys have had some very interesting comments over the years! i know iv had a few already and i havent even had my FD long so you guys must have had some real good ones!. what were they? e.g. "Nice Porsche!!"

my car is a sausage fest, dont get me wrong but sometimes i just dont want the attention. The fd is my DD so I have to take it everywhere I go. Where-ever i go I get a ton of questions about it especially since their is no emblems to identify it. The usual questions

"whats your MPG"

the dreaded " how many pistons"

"wow you must pull all kinds of girls with this" no not really.

One funny thing I remember was when I was at HIN Miami, I was talking to someone about pettit racing. All of a sudden I see this 300lb girl walk up to the car and I was like wtf is going to happen. So get this, she opens the door and sits in the car! Who does that to a random car at a show?

The fd does help close the deal with the ladies though, just never initially attracts them, guess its no bmw or mercedes.

My FD gets an assloads of attention but i think a majority of that is because the car is rare. When people find out its "just a mazda", then they turn their back and go about their ways.

I only have a couple of real instances where a guy (the FD is a sausage fest like someone said lol) that actually followed me on the highway, just to talk to me when i finally exited to tell me how gorgeous my car is, where can he get one, how much, can i trade for his car etc etc lol.

As far as girls, i dont drive the car enough to experience all types of female activity but in my town, the girls love my car. They are all straight out of high school teenie boppers but since im into that anyway, it works out lol.

well i have had someone crash while looking at the FD...young kids in a civic. And i also had a cop bitch at me for giving "false" insurance saying

"The insurance you gave me was for a 93....this is not a game, i NEED the correct insurance for this car "

"uh this IS a 93, officer..."

Strangley I find a lot senior citizens love my FD, theres a couple of them in my neighbourhood , an old lady , looks about 90 goes for walks and if im workin on my car in the drive she always stops to check out my FD with words like " magnificent " and " what a beauty ".
My old neighbour ( he's about 80+ ) used to love my 'porsche , . even after telling him it was a mazda he would still greet me with " hows the porsche ?' god bless him.

The most recent one I can remember was about a week or two ago @ the last car show I took mine to. As I was pulling in a bunch of teens had just showed up with their 240's, STi's, Neons, etc..... so they ALL walked behind my car as I was being directed to my spot! I got the usual....very beautiful car and what not. Always makes me feel good though!

I also get asked ALL the time is it turbo? Do you guys get that a lot too?

Yeah, another vote on the sausage magnet comment...

I get the "is it turbo" question and I've also gotten "is it reliable" from an S2000 owner. I get the occasional compliment or conversation, but I haven't had it out since I tend to just knock out my (current) break in miles at night or on back roads on the weekend.

I've gotten a couple comments that "its loud" or "its very loud" -- my male friends love the streetported idle sound.

Had some guy in a suit and tie hail me when i was driving towards him in the mall parking lot.

"WOW man nice FD (he actually said that) i used to have one in red a few years ago, best car i ever had.. sold it a few years later for more than i paid.. Awesome car dude"

lol and my car needs paint pretty bad and the body panels need aligning .. still seem to get a bunch of compliments.. also had a group of kids in a blacked out escalade roll up when i was sitting in a parking lot.. the back window rolled down..

I've had a friend look into my engine bay and ask, "Wtf? Where's the engine?" (the UIM was off). I told him that it doesn't have one, that's how they achieved the 50/50 weight ratio. =P

i've had the usual nice car comments.
alot of "is it turbo'd?"
i just got a business card in my window the other day with a number if i was willing to sell. that made me happy.

by far the weirdest thing i ever heard was from this guy in a mx3 asking me about my car at a red light. usual comments/questions, then out of nowhere he asked me if i would blow him i really hope he was refering to the BOV....

The only attention my car really gets is from young boys. Like 14. From what I've seen, chicks don't like the thing, they have no idea what it is, etc. Maybe it's 'cause my car looks stock.

A lot of older folks, as someone else already mentioned, seem to be fond of the looks for sure. I've at least four or five gas station and stoplight conversations with guys in their 50+ years, most of them weren't even "car guys". They just thought the car was neat looking and didn't know what it was (no badges).

I got pulled over and the cop looked at my license and said I was doing 40 in a 30 (though it wasn't posted from the freeway exit to where I stoped) I told him that and he said ok, then asked if this was a rx-7 to which I side yes and he replied you have a nice day and left.

I do see minor hints of the C5 Vettes.

I usually keep my windows up to avoid direct attention. One day I kept hearing these girls yelling and screaming about how nice the car was, but acted lik eI didn't notice them I had the slightest crack in the window just to listen. They slowed down like 3 times and the passenger was just staring. Thank god for tint.

Another time I was just minding my own and pass an Accord full of girls. I get stopped at a red light and I hear a hey as the light turns green. I just ask what's up...get no response and see two girls hanging out of the windows flashing me. It was dark so I didn't get a good look. Just laughed and kept going.

Another time a black Porshe (I think they're called the 993) widebody Turbo with a huge spoiler and RUF wheels coasted nest to me and I looked over and saw the owner giving me a thumbs up. Haha...that made me feel good since I had seen his car like a month ago at the grocery and had to stop and oogle over it for a few minutes.

Now that I have the Scoot style hood on it, it's even more of a nightmare.

"Is that exhaust stock?" "You're car smells like it's running really rich." "Wanna race?" Are the main questions I get. My uncle suprised me and was like you should put a 20b in there...then I drew the connection that he was wanting to build his own airplane and that's how he knew about it. Freaked me out a bit when a trucker from Ohio tells me to put a 20B in my car. He did think it was out of an RX8, but I still give him credit.

Big sausage fest here. I've had a guy follow me off the highway and when we got to a red light he jumped out of his car and ran over to my drivers door to say hi and give me a local car shop business card that apparently deals with rotaries.

Ha ... hints? The front half of the C5 is a direct lift of the FD, although the FD has aged more gracefully. (The rear quarters on the C5 are all NSX sans the integrated spoiler... so strange.)

I used to live in North Carolina and my car got a lot of attention when I drove it. In Los Angeles, it's my daily driver and goes generally (and thankfully) ignored on the side of the city that I live in where BMWs are the standard uniform, all things German are plentiful, and every other car has HIDs (if that tells you anything). A couple of months ago, though, I was driving in relatively busy weekend traffic in Santa Monica and a guy beside me in a brand new black Audi R8 almost plowed into the car ahead of him while checking out my car (said my girlfriend in the passenger seat). He actually managed to lock his brakes up.

Besides the fact that my FD gets alot of attention... ^^^ not so much as girls flashing hehe, but stares and ridiculous people trying to race me. My FD has been called "ferrari" many times and was recently was referred to as a "porche" which is cool considering their costs :p But most common is "Why is smoke coming from the exhaust" and "it smells" haha
