Hey i am changing the oil for the first time and i need to know what kind is best and how much, also what oil filter to use.

It is average about 47deg here right now but can get below freezing and above 50.

So if someone could plz help, what kind should i use (synthetic which i heard was bad, or regular, and what weight) and how much.

Thanks a lot guys

Use a genuine Mazda filter ONLY. Use 10W-30 dino oil if the temps go below 30 degrees regularly (or even 5W-30...this is stated on the underhood placard) and you can use 20W-50 in really hot weather, where the temps won't be below 60 - 70.
Takes about 4.5 U.S. quarts for a full change. Put in 4 quarts, run it a while, let it sit, then check it and add as necessary.
