Can Someone Decode this JDM VIN for me?

*Short Version*

What info can you tell me about the VIN of this JDM car:

FD3S- 113664

What spec is it? ( RZ RS etc) and what year the car was...

*long version*
i found a JDM FD front clip Locally that i want to use to swap into my FD to get it back on the road again...

it's very clean and bonestock and looks quite promising..

I have a feeling it's a Series 7 (96-98) but i'm not quite sure

it has bilstein Shocks and the AST looks a little diff.. as well as the a/c logicon and the location of the dimmer switch....

it's deffinately not a 99 Spec tho... (face still looks similar to our US spec ones)

I was too distracted to take pics (stupid me)

Looks to be a version I car, made no later than July 93.

As to model, AFAIK, not able to tell from chassis number alone. To bad front cuts take the model info away once the gas axe has done it's job.

When buying a JDM engine or front clip, don't bank on pie in the sky parts. Only bank on parts that are solid and known good, and treat anything else as a bonus.

Even if you clearly saw the bad-*** shocks on the car, there's no guarantee they're good. The piston shafts could be rusted from sitting around at the wreckers, they could be bent from a wreck or a careless forklift driver, etc.

how fr back did they cut the chassis, the jdm models have a sticker on teh driver door jam that denotes the model and what suspension it has. if there are any seat belts there will be build dates on them, thats how Japanese wreckers figure out what year a car is.

it was chopped right after the shifter at the tranny tunnel... basically where the beginning of the seat rail would be...

my reason for buying the car was not the supsension.. but the reason i mentioned it was in hope to try and figure out the model of the car..

because in japan some of their Cars came with optional Bilstien suspension just like the Lan evo MR does...

i believe they are the RZ or something like that...

the steering wheel is also the one with the big efini badge in the middle not like our flat ones..

Appears I was wrong about being able to get specifics from the chassis number.

May require you to be located in Japan rather than the UK(??)

As to the Bilsteins, more the rule rather than the exception to find mods on the Jap market imports here. If you're lucky, the clean engine might indicate a recent swap-out rather than a fastidious steam clean, the above link seems to suggest a build around Oct 92.
