Basic settings for V4 on 93 Rx-7
I'm working on a guy's 93 FD that has a Wolf3d V4 plug and play on it. When it ran, it ran poorly. It currently won't run at all (no fire). I was wondering if anyone could tell me the basic settings for the wolf3d. The settings like in the engine menu for CAS type, and ignition type. Also the trigger settings, load settings, etc. I 'm just looking for the basic things to setup before I can start troubleshooting the other problems. (Other problem being why there's no spark, with a good tach signal.) Thanks.

Ok what equipment do you have? Handset, Laptop, basic electrical tool: meter, test lamp and pliers
My guess is that the engine isn't cranking fast enough or you have errors coming from the CAS. What map are you using can you post it please. It is easy to break the spark on plugins. Also have you checked both trail and lead for spark?? Cheers Michael Smith P.S>< check your fuse too!! |

OK so the ign output to the coils is 12Volts all the time. Or is it 0 volts or is the output open niether 12 or 0 Volts. Use a test lamp connected to 12V first then ground. if the lamp doest light either time it is open circuit. Now it there is No Voltage ie 12V while NOT cranking my guess is you have a blown fuse in the ignition path. The Wolf pulls down to ground. I think that your ignition need to pullup the Wolf too 12V. if you see 250 on the handset the CAS is usually good.

I swapped a stock ecu in it for the time being. It's still acting wierd, but I'll figure it out. What I would really like to know is what the basic settings should be for the wolf. I just wantto go through them and make sure they're set right before I mess with it anymore.

Anybody have the settings? I would appreciate it if someone with a running car could just look at their settings and write them down for me. Should take just a minute and I can't do anything w/o them. Thanks!

yeh... i will save you the trouble....
are you on stcock injectors? 550 /850? try this for size :) you must copy the ignition/ injector sequences as are. also set the trigger to very low.... mine doesnt work with Low... only very low. (u must be plugged with the ecu on... you will need a laptop.) Best, George |
Thanks George, I think there are TPS issues with the car though IMO

well he can always check with a voltmeter the tps output what you think? I use the factory tps and no issues.
best, G |
Finally got the car running on a stock ECU. The coil harness was hooked up upside down. I'm going to mess with the wolf settings today. I don't have the cable to tune with a laptop, but I think I'll be able to get it going with the hand controller. The TPS is good, as I tested it at the ECU. Thanks for the help guys.
