un-correctable no-front-plate citation?

Here's the deal,
A couple days ago I got one of the blue court courtesy notices asking for a bail amout of $10 + proof of correction for a no front plate citation, So, I'm ok, whatever.

But the screwed up part is today coming back from the Rickey & Roonie meet, I get a letter from the superior court saying the violation is non correctable and I have to pay $118.50 or appear before a judge.

The $10 i don't mind, but an extra $108? I have better things I need to buy.

So my question is... Has anyone ever had an issue like this, and is there some advice as what to do?

Battle Cat 05-03-08 09:33 PM

i have.. there gonna bullshit.. i ended up paying like 150 plus the stupid 10 dollars..

grimple1 05-03-08 10:36 PM

how is that not fixable? front license plate holder and problem solved?

Mister Destiny 05-04-08 02:38 PM

did you wait too long to fix it? you have 21 days

moorishidol 05-04-08 03:19 PM

no, I just got it like 5 days ago
I already put a plate on too, but I don't want to pay an extra $10 on top of the $118

teddyrx2 05-04-08 08:43 PM

i call bull shit

1st7 05-04-08 09:25 PM

you just got the ticket 5 days ago??
Damn thats fast if you got your blue notice in what 2 days......
It is a correctable violation............
By the time i got my blue slip which was like over a week i had already had the violation paid!... $12

teddyrx2 05-04-08 11:32 PM

+1 they are correctable

moorishidol 05-04-08 11:55 PM

ya, that's what the first one said, but the second letter said to disregard the first one and that it was un-correctable

HOZZMANRX7 05-04-08 11:59 PM

Get it signed off, then go to the clerk at the court with the first notice and signed off citation and see what happens.

Nothing to loose.

teddyrx2 05-05-08 12:00 AM

you know what man...the only thing you can do is get is signed off then head to court and seek the real answer...

WISH2drift7 05-05-08 01:42 AM

yup! they got me with no front license plate, tinted windows, no proof of insurance, and registration...OUCH!! Got a officer to sign off license plate, tinted windows, n insurance and paid about $306.00 for no registration... your pretty much contributing funds back to California if you pay that extra $118.

I agree with Teddyrx2 advice. or Bring a family or friend Po-Po, if you have one to tell them that they are messing with the wrong person. The laws are like the credit card companies. They try to screw you over with FEES...but ya its sign-off citation.

teddyrx2 05-05-08 01:44 AM

i have a few of those tickets, and somewhere along the line they screwed up and sent you the wrong notice...You pay the $118 your dumb for doing so...

2cute 05-05-08 10:11 AM

go to court......

teddyrx2 05-05-08 07:53 PM

thats what im saying...but not without getting the ticket signed first...then go to court

1st7 05-06-08 01:11 AM

dont fix it ....just park you car and start walking..................

DJDINO 05-06-08 02:16 PM

Please PM Fumanchu for any violations that needs to be signed off. Thanks to him, I was able to keep my Borla exhaust on my Vette.

PhatManBUD 05-08-08 11:11 AM

I got a no front plate, no proof of insurance, no registration, and modified exhaust, i went to the ticket window at court with my insurance card showing i had insurance and registration, didnt get anything written off and my ticket was about the same as that, $118

Battle Cat 05-08-08 12:23 PM

sup phats!

+1

Put a front licence plact on there and take it to the court. Just go in as if it is correctable.

teddyrx2 05-09-08 01:58 AM

you get this fixed yet

680RWHP12A 05-09-08 02:15 AM

look on your ticket... there is a small box on the left side that the cop can check off non- fixable.. that means he was a dick and you will have to pay the fine.. ive has it happen a few times

teddyrx2 05-09-08 03:12 AM

don't really matter...either way the cop doesn't make the laws he just enforces them...
