All the search results I see on reputable shops in Southern California need updated. Where is everyone taking their cars these days? I'm in Pasadena, super close to Lucky 7 but I've been on the wait list over a year and they are very unresponsive. Any other places taking cars?

thanks : )

DNA is just as busy as Lucky7. He's very responsive through texts but he never followed through with me. 3 or 4 different times i contacted him to upgrade my fuel setup and tune my car. He said he'll get me invoice but he never did. multiple messages of "i'm still working on it" "i'll get it to you soon" etc. I even said just send it to me and i'll pay whatever. I just gave up and just contacted Lucky7. Took months to get my car in but it got in. Other shops I know of is Neptune speed in Huntington beach and garage life somewhere near your area (626).

Not sure how long ago you reached out, but he was transitioning and taking over the tuning side as well as the landlord was doing parking lot repaving, so he was down for a bit and backlogged. You may want to try again

Last year 2021. First contact was mid March, then mid April, then mid June to early July. I just gave up. I know he's busy and i saw on his Instagram he was working on special projects around that time and all. I got nothing good or bad to say. I'm just letting the OP know he might run into the same problem as he did with Lucky7. The shops are super busy and there is always a long wait list. If you look at DNA's instagram page, he states the transition and it's a lot of cars on the waitlist so yeah.

Welp lucky7 called after over a year of being on the waitlist, but found a guy I trust in Santa Barbara to take on the project a week before. Figures!

I've been burned by several rotory shops and I only trust L7. I dropped by a month ago to say hi and he was swamped. To me it's worth the wait but that my .02

Car is in Santa Barbara getting "finished" now by David Guy. Amazing engineer. Has been the highlight of the project getting to watch over his shoulder while he works. As soon as ignition parts land from sakebomb we should be starting the car.

Try Tomo at Josho Auto in Costa Mesa....One man shop...His daily driver is a RX-8..Was recommended by someone off FB...That person and I got tired of waiting on DNA and he found Tomo...Hard to understand with his thick accent but his work is excellent...Just pick up my red 85 GSL-SE last Friday after he replaced all the rear end bushings, worked on my left power window and replaced the front idler arm bushings...Was worth the trip to go to his shop........Josho Auto | Auto Repair - Best Customer Care This was my second time here...Last year he worked on my other GSL-SE replacing the fuel pump, fixing the left power window, and replacing the o-rings coming from the oil cooler and checking the fuel injectors.....

Kyle will build you a engine if you take it out of your car and bring it to him...My neighbor is a sponsor of his drift cars and he reached out to him...He called me and told me that...He doesn't have time to do anything else due to the drift season......

hello,
I have a 85 that was my mom's all original parts, just hasn't been started in a few years. Tires are flat.
Should I keep it or sale it?
I love the car but have Noone to work on it! Located in Pasadena.

Hi,

I would keep it, especially if its all original. I can get it to start, How many miles are on the engine? Tires are easy..I can come out and take a look at it sometime on a weekend if you would like and we can talk about how to get it going to make your mom proud of it and you...

that would be great, actually my mom passed away, but I loved the car but didn't know what to do. I would love for you to come take a look at it and possibly an estimate. Let me know your thoughts, I'm not sure how this app works, how do we exchange info?
